After a promising first episode I thought the rest of the series was boring. I didn't find it funny even though it's described as a comedy and I found the narration tedious. I didn't think that it was exciting at all and the scope of the story is very narrow. It was the same episode after episode.
I stuck it out and watched the whole series, but I won't be watching the next series. This really doesn't deserve all of the hype and promotion it gets and I don't know why ITV chose this US drama to show primetime on ITV1, there are much more deserving ones out there. It should have just been shown on ITV2.

I bought this having owned the DVD and thought it would be a film that would benefit from the advantages of HD. I'm not disappointed, thankfully. The picture is stunning.
As for the film, I think it's one of Will Smith's best yet often underated. Sure, it's no Oscar winner but as a quick fix of stunning special effects with a decent storyline it more than fits the bill. Enjoy!

Peter Jackson didn't just appear on the scene with 'The Lord of the Rings' - he's been around turning in quality work for years and 'The Frighteners' is a testament to that fact. The only downside to this HD DVD release of the film is that while the transfer is a clear improvement over the most recent standard DVD, it lacks the polish of other HD DVDs. Still, fans of the film should find plenty to love in this otherwise impressive package, which includes the director's cut of the film, a great audio package, the full four and half hour documentary of its creation, and a director's commentary with Peter Jackson.

Science fiction inspired from Isaac Asimov. The film is logical but explores a logic that is unique. Robots are built with three ingrained laws. "Law I / A robot may not harm a human or, by inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. Law II / A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the first law. Law III / A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the first or second law." The scientist who designed these three laws and these robots also invented a central governing unit that was nothing but the watchdog of all robots as for respecting these three laws. But he had a doubt at the end of his life, more than a doubt, the conviction that the central ... Read More:

A typical jerry bruckheimer no brains all action film, anyone who likes either fast cars or nick cage will like this.
The blueray its self is very good quality with bright, vibrant and sharp picture quality and excellent sound to boot, the disc is only let down by its limited extra features. If you havn't already got this on dvd then this is certainly worth a look.
What I watched it on.
Panasonic 42px60 (plasma 1080i)
playstation 3 blu-ray player (HDMI)
JVC th-v70r surround sound (optical) (dolby digital 5.1) (inc tannoy m1 front L/R speakers)

When a film is entitled ANNAPOLIS one expects to see something that resembles or in some part reflects the title. Unfortunately, this is based on a small, twice-told story rendered in what appears to be a Frankenscript made up from parts of other scripts from feature films superior to it. It's a superficial story at that. It's also obvious that the neither writer nor director served in either the US Navy or the USN Marines Division, nor apparently bothered to hire a knowledgeable consultant for it lacks authenticity and is marred by technical errors. For example, there's a line where Midshipman Cole (well played by the striking Tyrese Gibson) a former Marine that we later learn will return to the Marines after graduating Annapolis refers to himself as a ... This show is like nothing you have ever seen before. And that is a good thing.
It is the story of the Pie Maker aka Ned (Lee Pace). To the world, he is best known as the owner of The Pie Hole, where he serves delicious pies with his assistant/waitress, Olive (Kristen Chenoweth).
But Ned has a secret. With his touch, he can bring the dead back to life. Of course, there are some conditions. If he touches them again, they are dead for ever and ever. And if he doesn't touch them again in one minute, someone else nearby dies instead.
Since The Pie Hole doesn't pay all the bills, Ned works with private investigator Emerson Cod (Chi McBride). He brings murder victims back to life to find out who killed them, then the ... Read More:
