This is another repackaging of the left-over initial releases. Everyone would be better off purchasing the new Special Editions of the Spaghetti Westerns in this box

It sounds so boring and dull that we should spend 90 mins or so watching a black and white film where 12 men are sitting around a table discussing a court case and not only that but give or take a few seconds the whole film is set in just that one room.
The fact that such a 'boring' film can put you on the edge of your seat EVERY time you watch it is pure testament to the art and skills of debutant director Sidney Lumet, writer Reginald Rose and the cast of twelve talented actors.
To prove the point, the remake from 1997 which also features sterling actors of great calibre such as Jack Lemmon and George C.Scott with an almost identical script could not pull it off as well as the 1957 version. In fact it was nowhere ... Read More:

I decided to put up a review of this film after purchasing it from Amazon, at just under 7.00GBP. To be honest, their cannot be many people who have not seen the movie before, although, perhaps like me, it has been quite a while. DVD special features (or lack of them) don't really concern me, and this review concentrates on the film. Basically, Eastwood is hung in error by a posse in search of a murdering cattle rustler. Eastwood is found by a passing Marshal, while still alive. After being cleared, he takes a position as a Marshal himself. While "vengeance" is to some degree in the film, Cooper (Eastwood's character) does not actively go in search if this for most of the film. Anyway, to the main question: satisfaction and value ... This story is not quite "The Ipcress File" (1965) but it has its moments. The catsup, oops blood in those days was considerable thicker.
We have Harry (Michael Caine) once again being recruited by Colonel Ross (Guy Doleman), with a promotion and a 300£ annual raise. But he has other ideas and soon opportunities to take part in a great political movement. Where there is chaos there is profit. And as usual you can not tell the good guys from the bad or the idiots.
The actors as they are introduces in the story are an added plus. The Russian Colonel Stok, Oscar Homolka earlier played Dr. Prokosch in "Boys' Night Out" (1962). Who can look at Karl Malden and not think of "The Streets of San Francisco" (TV series) - Detective Lt. Mike Stone ... Read More:

Although this movie was disregarded by most critics and ignored at the box office, it is truly a funny film with its cartoon-like situations and over-the-top characters. Regardless of what everyone says, check out this film, especially when you find yourself in the mood for a cute and campy movie that is reminiscent of some of the great comedies of the 80's, such as Ruthless People.

Battlestar Galactica was one of those late 70s / early 80s shows which quickly entered into popular culture. It has an excellent cast, including Starbuck (played by Dirk Benedict) who is a smoking, drinking, gambling, womanising pilot (with marked similarities to the Han Solo persona) and the more serious Captain Apollo (Richard Hatch) who is son of Commander Ardama (more like the serious foil / Luke Skywalker role). Commander Adama (Lorne Greene - from Bonanza) plays the main role as the serious commander of the Galactica ship.
Despite all the song and dance made of the similarity with Star Wars (Ep IV), this is a separate idea, and has more in common with a US military operation which operates like an aircraft carrier. The nice twist here is that they are carrying civilians ... Read More:
