Tim Burton's reputation as the darkest and most gothic director started here with a bizarre but wonderfully different tale of the dead and is both funny, and yet psychological scary, and brings a niche to the market in a strange and sophisticated way.

The film has a terrific opening with Danny Elfman's score exquisite to the bird's eye view of the town going past and the upbeat music plays right into our hands and will gear you up ready for the horror and excitement to begin.

On occassions in history it has appeared that some Presidents are overshadowed by the successes of their predecessors. Compare for a moment the reputations of Truman and Johnson with FDR and Kennedy - sometimes a President is remembered most for who they followed rather than their own actions.

`Commander in Chief' suffers significantly from a similar problem - witness the number of comparisons to `The West Wing' amongst the reviews here for evidence of that. It is understandable as `Commander in Chief' appeared to be treading the same ground and tried to steal viewers away from its older competitor.

is that i'd heard Brian Setzer (Rockabilly/swing/God) was going to be in this movie! My favourite guitarest does appear....but only in the music extras on the dvd. That's crimanal because the 'If you can't rock me' by the Brian Setzer Orchestra (and featuring Stuart Little bopping away to my idol) is absolutely classic 5 star stuff! Check out the music extras and you'll see what i'm talkin' about. Perhaps it was including in the American release? Anyway, Michael j. Fox is a hero of mine since 'Back to the future' and he does a great job bringing the voice of the little mouse to life. Out of the 3 Stuart Little movies, this is definately the best. I just wish they'd used 'If you can't rock me' in the end credits or something instead of Lou Bego's 'mambo part 2.

Mild similarity to "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid". It's about two fugitives, people on the run, who keep getting themselves into one mess after another.

To think of this as a feminist chick flick is an open ended suggestion; but it can also be perceived as a story of two women who deal with things that have happened to them in the best way they can.
Geena Davis as Thelma, does a very good performance, as a meek woman with an overbearing husband, who finds herself with newfound freedom, albeit quite naive and trusting, even after what happened to her.

Susan Sarandon shines in this movie as well as Louise, a woman with a boyfriend who turns out to be not so bad of a guy. She also has a past to overcome, and the two of them are ... Read More:

Brought this off a mate of mine for £1 and watched it a couple of days later.
About 10 minutes into it i realised i had seen it before on tv many years back and promised to myself i would buy it on dvd, but as usuall i forgot what it was called and it went out of my memory. Just by luck i brought it off my mate as he was having a clearout.

All i can say is, his mistake. I have literally hundreds of dvds, movies and series and i can safely say, this dvd wont even be leaving my collect.

Really good value for three films that are sure to please the kids (and tbh adults as well). Yes the 3rd film in the boxset is a cartoon but that didn't stop my son loving every minute of each film within the boxset.

The fly is a horror classic from the 80s that deserves its reputation as a well told, well acted gore shocker.

No amount of description here can do justice to this film that contains just about every level of horror and suprise. On a deeper level Cronenberg the Director gets his Lovecraft flag flying, as our imaginations run riot as to how far the fusion of human and fly will go.

Blu Ray
Although I had read good reviews of the picture quality I found that the ordinary bits of the film look just that - ordinary. However it is the incredible make up and gory effects that pay dividends in blu ray. You can see just how much that department has put in to lift the film to its classic status.
