That cheese-loving, dim-witted inventor Wallace and his long-suffering, resourceful mutt Gromit have made a great transition from 30 minute shorts to an 85 minute feature. It's one of the funniest, slyest and most innocent comedies around, and one of the most action-filled, too. Wallace and Gromit run a pest control business. People have hired them to catch all the bunnies that are chomping up their vegetables. This is vital because the annual veggie contest and fair given by Lady Tottingham is only days away. Through indescribable circumstances a bunny is turned into a giant were-rabbit and Wallace and Gromit are on the case. But then, in an amazing twist, the were-rabbit is...but you'd better see the movie.

this is one of my most favourite movies. there are some splendid reviews here already, so i will keep it short.
this is shakespearian comedy with dark undertones. this tale is about the nature of love. wonderful yet terrible love... etc. not everyone wins at the end. The actors are all wonderfully cast, and the landscape and locations are brilliant to. there is also a wonderful balance between the romance, the pangs of unrequitted love, laughs, music, chaos, revenge, etc. and it is all perfect. Ben Kingsley's Feste i think stands out most. and when Viola speaks of love (hers being impossible), i again feel the pain i had when i had my own heart broken.
this tale is not all romantic. For instance: Maria maries Sir Toby knowing his bad habits full well, ... Read More:

This was the most embarrassing mess from Tim Burton. It should be deleted from his CV very quickly. It was so bad I thought that Ron Howard made it.
Synthetic rubbish. The story was like someone from Deliverance pitched a fairy tale to Walt Disney. I'm ashamed to have rented it, I felt like vomiting after it ended.

In this adaptation from Roald Dahl's novel, Johnny Depp (Edward Scissorhands) stars as Chocolate maker Willy Wonka, who offers 5 kids across the world the chance to win a tour around his chocolate factory.
It is amazing to see how times can change in the film industry, particularly in the animation aspect. If you were lucky enough to catch the original film with Gene Wilder in 1971 then you would have really appreciated the thought and dedication that went into the film. The effects and acting were stunning, none more so than Wilder. Now we find it hard to find a film without heavy dollops of animation, particularly in the fantasy genre.
Yes the graphics in this Tim Burton adaptation are good, as is his direction, but there is no real beating the original. ... Read More:

This is an awful adaptation. It bastardizes the essence of Shelley's novel. While the novel nurtures a moral dilemma at its heart, this destroys it. (This cannot be demonstrated better than when the monster rips out Elizabeth's heart, serving as an apt metaphor for the film ripping out the heart of the text). The sympathy for the monster which Shelley really draws on is completely undercut in the film by the monster's portrayal as a cold blooded murderer wanting an unjustified amount of revenge...it ignores the reasons behind his sadness, ignoring the carefully crafted manipulation which Shelley plays with the reader's own preconceived ideas.
Among the monstrosities are the changing of the monster's final speech when Victor had died, which should have been a real climax and silent ... Read More:
