Basically, everyone else seems to have just said the plot of the film. I will say that this movie is one of the most beautiful, amazing films ever made and is best watched alone, with a clear mind. Heath Ledger is commonly said to have given a brilliant performance, which I agree with completely, on parr with his last complete role as the Joker. However, I do feel Jake Gyllenhaal is very underrated in this film, I love his performance, particularly at the start of the film, though his character's actions begin to get on my nerves towards the end, this doesn't take away from the magnificent ending, which could not be bettered. I have never watched it without crying.

I watched this on a whim. At nearly two hours long I kind of expected it to be one of those oh hurry up movies but I watched in a one-r and never checked the clock once.

Really well made movie, well filmed, matching music, good acting, good story. Not a light movie, makes you think. Well worth watching.

I watched this on a whim. At nearly two hours long I kind of expected it to be one of those oh hurry up movies but I watched in a one-r and never checked the clock once.

Really well made movie, well filmed, matching music, good acting, good story. Not a light movie, makes you think. Well worth watching.

I don't know much about the case of Zodiac outside of this film, so I can't really comment on how close to the truth the story of this film is, or how well each person played their part in comparison to their real-life counterpart. However, I can comment on this film for what it is - a fascinating story of a cartoonist's search for the identity of a serial killer who all else seem to have given up on ever finding.

The pacing of the film is slow, but if I'm honest, that's the type of pacing that I prefer, where the director lets things build up rather than adopting the 'thrill-a-second' approach that certain directors have taken with their films lately. A simply fantastic film and the HD transfer is demo worthy the directors cut adds to the film without making it drag. You simply can't get much more classy than this film and disc, the extras are fantastic too but the one stand out extra has to be the "this is the zodiac speaking" documentry this runs at about 90 mins and features interviews with all the surviving people from the real zodiac case and some great crime scene photos and archive footage. A film you'll never forget, within minutes of watching it you'll be on the internet trying to solve the case yourself and straight back to amazon to buy the books. I can not recommend it enough a real 5 star effort

I absolutely love this film. Awhile back i borrowed this film of my sister because it looked interesting and the cover was cool, and when i watched i was hooked. The great thing about this movie is that it makes you think alot very clever, the acting is brilliant, the storyline is just bloody incredible. Everytime i watch this film it gets better and i always have to watch all the way through it's so amazing. This is hard to put in the genre but who cares. The ending really makes you think, and the song Mad World by Gary Jules is just perfect for this film. The whole story is really interesting about a troubled teenager but very smart, Is told by an imaginary rabbit(creepy rabbit) that the world is going to end and goes on from there. Jarhead starts out in boot camp with new recruits and a sadistic drill instructor - and you think you know what is coming next. Bonding, heroism and death in the heat of battle. But that is not how Jarhead goes.

Instead what we get is a realistic(ish) view of the experience a youg marine in the period leading up to and including the first gulf war. We see young men driven half crazy with boredom and frustration as they wait for the war to start. It is an unjudgemental film that is uncomfortable viewing at times.

I lags a bit a points - difficult to make boredom interesting - and while I haven't read the autobiography this is based on it is clear some events have have been changed to increase the drama.
