This last (half) series of the finest TV show ever made is actually one of its best (semi) seasons, so it makes some sense to review this masterwork from the (hopefully now spoiler-proof) end. The Sopranos finishes, indeed, as wonderfully as it began and carried on: constantly complimenting the viewer's intelligence, right up to the bitter-sweet dénouement.

Yes, the penultimate episode is the proper narrative/dramatic "end," with its stunningly-staged assassination of Baccala and the calamitous (and, typically of the show, almost hilarious) near-fatal wounding of Silvio (to the sound of Nat King Cole, the sight of naked Bing bystanders and with hideous collateral damage to a passing motorcyclist).

seem to have a different opinion from so many other viewers, since I really enjoyed the first half of season six. Seeing Tony get shot, not by season one's physically and mentally vigorous Uncle Junior, as I had kept anticipating that season, but by the toothless demented Uncle Junior, believing he was shooting someone else entirely was priceless irony. I loved the part with Tony in the coma in our world, while -wherever he was - he was exactly what he had always dreaded being - a nobody. Worse, he's a traveling salesman who is "trapped" and unable to get home. When Tony comes out of his coma, he vows to change and take every day as a gift, but later he is gradually pulled back into his old ways, since his position as boss really gives him no alternative. ... In the first season we are introduced to the Soprano family. The most impressive thing here is that we're not just introduced to `the family' but we're introduced, quite intimately, to Tony Soprano's immediate family, wife, daughter and son. Like the shows creator David Chase said on the dvd extras, this is a story about a gangster who is living the same life we all are, taking his children to school and putting food on his families table. That's what makes this show so culturally valuable. It doesn't just illuminate the clichéd assumption of crime families but it really strips these human beings down to the rudiments of their very existence. This is definitely the series where the sopranos lost their way completely. It didn't just take a step toward the quirky and obscure, it jumped in with all arms, legs and kitchen sink.. there is no other way to put it, it was just plain weird and boring at that. If the franchise had back to back series of that style and standard it would die right there, no doubt.

As an avid fan myself i know you are gonna buy anyway. you know you are gonna buy anyway, but i advise for you to set those expectations to low to avoid disappointment. Series 5 is way below expectations.

Now series 6... is another story...

I brough the Sopranos thecomplete collection as soon as I saw that it was for sale at a relativly cheap price (£90) I rented the first season from Amazon after readding the variety of positive reviews I had read about it. And I can see why, the acting especially by James Gandolfini is brilliant, Gandolfini manages to both be terrifying and touching to the point were you forget that he is a murderering gangster and start to cheer him on. The array of guest stars is also brilliant especially when Steve Buscemi appears as Tony's cousin. The writing is gripping and at points incredibly funny.

Finally when I got to the last episodes I could not take my eyes off the screen not knowing how the show was going to end; and though the ending of the final episode at first ... Read More:

This is without doubt the best series however it recieved heavy criticism due to the level of violence depicted. However although the violence is graphic and often uncomfortable to watch it is crucial for the development of the characters. Furio in particular has a challenging moral dillema which keeps the viewer on a razors edge throughout!

An excellent thriller/caper movie from 1993, written by film director quentin tarantino and directed by tony scott. Featuring christian slater as a single guy who loves martial arts movies, who finds unxepected true romance with a call girl played by patricia arquette. fate gives them the chance to make millions when a suitcase of drugs comes into their possession, but there's more than a few people on their trail. will they live happily ever after?

Hugely entertaining film, thanks to the leads creating two highly appealing and likeable characters whom you can really root for. there's a good cast - a few before they were famous - and a plot that you can't anticipate the outcome of. A hugely entertaining piece of film. and with lots of adult language and violence well worthy of an 18 certificate. ... Read More:

Denzil Washington stars in this high class chiller in which he plays a cop trying to deal with an opponent who could literally be anybody at any time. A good cast including John Goodman and Donald Sutherland provide excellent support. Combine this with a surprisingly clever script and decent direction and you'll find a film that thrills and surprises in equal measures. No more so than the ending which has a lovely twist which I certainly didn't see coming.

Fortunately for us there is no basis in reality for this story. If there was you'd look at people a little bit differently in future. Its also worth mentioning that I shall never hear a certain Rolling Stones song in the same way again after watching this film.
