I dont get why so many people gave this such low ratings. Its a good and entertaining film and the guys powers are really cool. I think it was all good package with good action and it didnt have a story line that makes you go "that would never happen" (except for the jumping powers). I reccomend this to anyone that likes easy going action films.

It's a good, fun action movie with 2007's best special effect gimmick. Christiansen makes some amends for Star Wars here, but it's Jamie Bell who steals the show.

Firstly I tried to watch this film in enhanced 1080p via HMDI cable. I found that it was filmed mainly in the dark of night or in very darkened rooms, The fighting was also very dark I could not make out if they were fighting in theday time or night time. I have watched the second world war in colour on the history channel, and this film does not compare at all. The only thing I could say is that the sound track was really good. I could not watch it until the end and turned it off.Clint Eastwood should forget directing if this is the best he can do.

It's very refreshing to see a British actor who isn't churning out movie after movie on the Hollywood conveyor belt. Jamie Bell clearly knows the type of films he wants to be associated with and is bold enough and brave enough to do it. After seeing him in the incredible "Dear Wendy" it was clear he had the ability play the lead, and in Hallam Foe he does so beautifully.
Hallam Foe is an enjoyable "quirky" film held together by Bell's strong performance. Okay, so it won't be to everyone's taste but if you want to see a fun, if somewhat disturbing, British movie that doesn't rely on Messrs Statham, Jones or Dyer, or football violence then sit back and enjoy Hallam Foe.

'Flags of Our Fathers' is a war film that focuses on a conflict lost in history's pages, a group of men torn between honor and the truth, and a fascinating exploration of decision makers and those carrying out their decisions. This high-def release of the film has excellent video quality, a great sound package, and an engaging series of supplements. In fact, the only knock to the disc is that there aren't more special features. The Blu-ray and HD DVD versions are nearly identical and the only thing that pushes one higher than the other is the increased audio bitrate on this HD DVD edition. Other than that small difference, fans of the film should be more than pleased with this stellar release, no matter which format they own.

There's really nothing new about this story as it uses ideas from plenty of other horror stories of something whittling down a group of people isolated from help, and the characters have been drawn straight from central casting, particularly the company psycho and the rod up his bum officer though there's also religious guy, dying guy, doing me duty sergeant, hard bitten sniper guy and others you'll recognise from many another war film.
There's little in the way of special effects, but what there is works well enough though most of the tension comes from atmosphere.
There's plenty of mud, rain, rats and body parts to give that 'authentic' trench feel. I was left wondering how come everyone managed to keep clean shaven with mud free faces and clothing. They ... Read More:

This came as a bit of a surprise, suffice it to say, due to the photo used on the cover. I expected less but was so pleasantly surprised!
I read Nicholas Nickleby years ago and have no plans to read it in the near future. That said, I had forgotten much of the story. It is obvious, though, that even without remembering much of the book nor the story, there is much that has been left out of the movie. No matter. What is left here is perfect. Although we may never know why Ralph Nickleby lost his ten thousand pounds just by watching the film, we understand that there must have been some behind-the-scenes scheming going on and that's perfectly fine.
Although definitely a drama, the comedic elements work so well here to lighten the desperate dark Dickensian times. ... Read More:

The most imaginative film for years. Made even more significant by the stage play at the Victoria Palace Theatre, London - Billy Elliot The Musical. For anyone who remembers the 1984 miners strike and the heartbreak it caused to thousands of people, the film and play create a beautiful harmony of tears and joy. For anyone going to watch the musical, watch this DVD first. Once seen, the musical becomes even better. Stephen Daldry (The Director) and his fellow Producers capture the scenes perfectly in both. The same creative team who wrote the film also wrote the musical with the addition of Elton John who adds the music. The actors in both the the film and stage play are exceptional. The boys that play Billy are highly talented as are the experienced casts. Don't miss either this film ... Read More:
