There's no doubt that 'Lock, Stock, and two Smoking Barrels' was a magnificent example of a new film maker at his creative best. With Snatch though it feels like Guy Ritchie found his comfort zone and set up permanent camp there.
The film contains some very clever dialogue, and many of the characters display a deep philosophical intelligence you don't expect from a thug - this brings humour and style, but it also seems as though the film tries a bit too hard to be 'Lock, Stock...'.
Jack-the-Lads, guns, snappy dressers, and uber-cool lines initially grace the screen nicely, but it eventually comes clear that these are being shoe-horned in to build a trendy flick. But when you can see through it - it just doesn't work. ... Read More:

The Bank Job is so so as entertainment, but the most fun/pain can be had by watching the cringeworthy Saffron Burrows inexplicably given another film role to demonstrate how she is probably the worst British actress of all time.

I got In the Name of the King as part of a recommendation from a friend, I didn't expect much and I knew nothing about the negativity surrounding it. I have to say going into it, I didn't expect a blockbuster as I'd never heard of it but was surprised to see the A List cast in this movie. Statham, Liotta, Reynolds & Perlman are three names from past, present and future and all blend together to make this movie enjoyable.
The story goes that an evil sorcerer named Gallian (Liotta) controls an evil race of half animal half human warriors. He sets to use these creatures to take over the Kingdom, but he sets upon the wrong person and due to an attack on a village the son of Farmer (Statham) is killed and his wife is kidnapped. Farmer ... Read More:

Lock, stock and 2 smoking barrels is a crime tale about a group of friends from London who happen to lose a game of poker, they end up in a lot of debt thus having to get out of it. The story takes many twists & turns and will also make you laugh as it has a very good use of wry & dark humor. The plot evolves around one man but there are many characters who share as if not more an important role. The star of the show in this movie is Vinnie Jones who acts brilliantly.
I recomed 'Snatch' If you like this.

I love this film.
Fast - funny - pacy and full of great true to life characters - it is the closest thing to perfection.
It is right up there with Get Carter - Till Death Us Do Part and A Clockwork Orange.
The best thing to come out of British Cinema for more than 20 years - I would love a sequal.

Transporter (1) is simply brilliant. Fantastic fight scenes and rollercoaster action that just doesn't stop. Jason Statham is excellent - it's just a shame hollywood is so hung up on always making it's heroes "american" even when they're not! One of the best action films I've seen in years. Transporter 2 isn't as good as the first - it tried to be too much the same film as the original - but it's still definitely worth watching. Get it for The Transporter alone, you won't be disappointed.

Really a great set of twin gangster movies!! Unlike American shoot'em ups, these two have more gangster attitudes and darkness to them than blood and gore! By watching both movies it is obvious that they were directed by the same Guy Ritchie which uses a similar style for both movies but with their own uniqueness.
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels: More of a gangster movie than Snatch and there were more spectacular camera shots that caught my eye, such as the extreme close ups on the pupils of the eye and their contraction as a way of emphasizing the responses and thoughts of the characters. The plot tends to get more and more complicated as the movie progresses and then an unexpected ending that ends the whole movie and sort of leaves the viewer in a ... Read More:

Crank is surely one of the most stupid films ever made. It also one of the most entertaining. The running time is only about 70 minutes but any more than this and it would have become very tiresome.
The plot is simple. A man is dying (Statham) due to being injected with poison, he has to keep his adrenalin up to keep his heart going and catch the bad guy. The end.
The action in this film is amazing. From the moment we find out Statham is dying there is no let up whatsoever. No boring sub-plots, no soppy love story just set piece, after set piece, after set piece. The action is so outrageous you really must switch your brain off because the minute you take this film seriously, the minute you will realise just how ridiculous it is and miss the ... Read More:
