Supernatural - The Complete Second Season

This is a brilliant series. It has wonderful acting, writing, directing, special effects and music. It blends horror, comedy, emotion, family drama, action, mystery and suspense perfectly. I would recommend this as it is an excellent drama series which has been missed by a lot of people because of the lack of publicity compared with other shows. This is the best programme on TV!

This is a very, very good TV show. If you have never seen it, it is definitely worth buying for the (very low) Amazon price.

I find myself loving this series an inordinate amount, probably against my better judgement. But its charm and wit are more than enough to mostly obscure its faults.

It is wonderfully shot. The tone is dark and moody with the characters often shot in silhouette and I love the way in which the set, car and props seem dusty and used. Unlike many current TV shows everything is not clean and characterless and sanitized. It is this that partly makes the show believable. The title sounds great and makes you want to watch but after viewing you're left bitterly disappointed.

It's Too predictable and there is limited chemistry between the cast. Don't really see were the "comedy" comes into it.

My advice is avoid this film.

The dvd's arrived today - and shock of all shocks - there are extras - see moaning pays off.

As always great episodes and there will be a third series (campaigning pays off again).

Extras include a "gags reel" and two episode commentaries - would have like more stuff than that but somethings better than nothing

In this age of manufactured boy bands and special effects laden tat, I steered away from Supernatural solely because of its marketing tagline of 'supernatural gets sexy' or some such pith. I suspect it put many traditionalists off, which was a huge marketing mistake. That said, I stumbled upon it one evening on ITV and watched it. The thing is, Supernatural is a very good show - gritty, solid, well-acted with good storylines, its milieu is personified by the 1967 Chevy Impala taking centre stage alongside Ackles and Padalecki - muscle, black darkness and plenty of chrome. I watched this with my girlfriend and she (like a lot of women I hear) was in floods of tears.

Call me a "typical bloke" if you will, but I was not emotionally drawn into it. I didn't see any chemistry between Swank and Butlers characters so never really bought their relationship. I thought Swanks character had better chemistry with that of Connick Jrs.

Anyhow, it's an ok film with some funny moments - had the casting been a bit better I too may have had a tear in my eye

Call me a "typical bloke" if you will, but I was not emotionally drawn into it. I didn't see any chemistry between Swank and Butlers characters so never really bought their relationship. I thought Swanks character had better chemistry with that of Connick Jrs.

Anyhow, it's an ok film with some funny moments - had the casting been a bit better I too may have had a tear in my eye
