This isn't exactly a kids film though I thought it was when I saw it advertised on the sides of buses when it came out!
It is a beautiful unsentemental masterpiece! And I'd totally forgotten about Screen test!!
And No Julie Walters!! Wehey!!

There were so many 5-star reviews so i decided to buy Spaced and this sitcom has let me down. What I didn't like at all is that the creators had just taken out numerous bits from popular movies and tried to spoof them. The whole sitcom is countless unfunny spoofing. For instance we all remember that scene from Pulp Fiction with the toaster where Bruce Willis kills Travolta.OK, you can watch it again in Spaced.Nobody kills anybody here.
The writers just pointlessly put it in. Was it supposed to be hilarious? Where are you own ideas?
On the other hand you can call it a wonderful, inventive breath of fresh air in the stale world of sitcom.
But i prefer The Royle family and The Office to bits from The Shining Pulp Fiction Star Wars ... Read More:

I bought this recently after hearing good feedback from friends and various web sites over the years and I have to say I think it is almost up there with The Office and Phoenix Nights (although there are not as many laugh out loud moments). I just love it! Great characters, interesting episodes and unobtrusive film references aplenty! 4 out of 5 !!!

I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this film but it was great. The opening titles made me laugh out loud. The humour of the two boys' adventures was well timed and well balanced against the emotional family story. Both the main characters are believable and all actors put in a great performance, especially Jessica Hines. The special effects where used are excellent. You'll have to try hard not to shed a tear at the end. It's definitely worth watching!

To my shame I gave the first series of spaced 4 stars. It should have been five. This is a very enjoyable, witty sitcom. and I can now say with all confidence it matches The Office and Fawlty Towers (and Phoenix Nights)...YOU MUST WATCH THIS SERIES !!!!!!

I had high hopes for this, but was slightly disappointed. There are some great actors and comedians in this, including those who have featured in great shows such as Allan Partridge, the office, Peep show and the Royal family. However, I was put off at the start by the revolting and never funny, only nasty, Jimmy Carr, ultimately just playing himself.
The story line and "mockumentory" style of fliming is promising but doesn't quite deliver. I felt the film couldn't quite decide if it was a comedy, a romance or even a drama. Yes, there were funny moments, (the nose job gone bad is a classic example) but there were also some touching and uncomfortable moments which detracted from the comedy.
Overall, it's qite decent, but it's not a classic ... Read More:

Not so many big names as other "Balls" have produced, some of the acts I'd never heard of but on the whole they were some of the best. I wasn't keen on the Green Wing sketch but Russel Brand was a revelation and I'm now a convert. Others were distinctly patchy most noticeably Sarah Silverman.
