Of all the characters that they killed off within the first three series' Paul McGillion's character Dr Carson Beckett was the one I missed most of all. He was in at the very beginning and although Jewel State's character Dr Keller is engaging and credible Carson was the sort of character you could laugh at but still empathise with. It's a real tribute to the writers and to Paul that the character is so interesting and entertaining to watch.
One character I could do without is Ronan Dex. For some reason despite the writers attempt at putting in a history he always comes off (to me) as one dimentional. You can sum him up in just three words, violent, impulsive and uncommunicative. There's an episode when Teal'c and Ronan are paired ... Read More:

I bought this and it only took me 2 days. Stargate Atlantis season 2 was absolute superb, the action was great and good story lines but i think this was well worth the money. So all of you Stargate fans out there...get this now because you will not regret it trust me.

I love this adventure, pure escapism. I'm a fan of Stargate and when this spin off came out I was a bit worried but I got hooked from the first episode and still am!!! in fact I would even go as far as to say I like it better. And what about John Sheppard (Joe Flanigan) cor! could watch him all day!! But on a more serious note, I hope this lasts as long as SG1 and carries on being as good. The stories are great and every episode transports you to another place. Keep it up!!!

I only managed to watch half this film.. The acting was shallow and portrailed a poor view of people with learning disabilities. I was cringing and had to turn it off! Sorry to those who rated high and enjoyed this film, but I would definitly not recommend it to anyone! Rubbish!!

There might be a few spoilers just to let you know beforehand.
I think that this is by far the best Atlantis DVD released so far. You don't get many Stargate DVDs where all four episodes are absolutly fantastic, you usally get one dull episode every DVD but the four episodes on this DVD are simply great and very addictive.
Obviously you need to have watched all the other Atlantis DVDs to fully grasp the concept of the storyline.
Episode 1...Teal'c comes over to Atlantis to prepare Ronon for an interview with the IOA. Some pretty awesome scenes in this episode. e.g. Teal'c and Ronon kicking the Wraith's asses together and especially the fight scene between Teal'c and Ronon
Episode 2...Teyla goes in search for her ... Read More:

I know this DVD isn't out yet, so I can't comment on the DVD itself, but I can comment on the series.
I started watching Stargate Atlantis before I started watching Stargate SG-1, and now I am up to season 6 of SG-1. Season 4 of SGA is overall very good, with fantastic episodes like Be All My Sins Remember'd and Midway, and seemingly pointless and bad episodes like Trio and Quarantine.
This season brings back most of the old characters, but has Col. Samantha Carter from SG-1 replacing Dr. Weir as the Expedition Leader of Atlantis. The overall story is the continuation and the eventually conclusion (sort off) of the Replicator storyline. Other storylines include Michael and Teylas pregnancy. Replicators and pregnancys I can live with, ... Read More:

Clearly, this is a made-for-tv movie without big studios or money behind it but then, with a film like this that's a bit of a sine qua non. It's not a blockbuster and the plotting is appropriately moderate in scope. Thankfully, this means that there are no cringe-inducing, creaky set-pieces or an overblown score trying to compensate for a lack of impressive visuals.
What we do have is a film that nips along at a comfortable pace with an appealing central performance by Navi Warat and some enjoyable chemistry between her and co-star Joe Flanigan, who shows some nice comic flair and raises a few chuckles along the way, gamely submitting to a steady emasculation as he ignores Rawat's warnings and flounders repeatedly into harm's way.
