Dexter : Complete Season 1

The central premise behind this series is that Dexter is a man without human feeling, a sociopath and yet a man with the self control and social responsibilty to only kill those criminals who society abhors but who manage to escape justice. He's a kind of modern day superhero taught by his father (who realised his tendencies when he was six years old????) to channel his love of killing towards good.

As a premise for a series this is pretty weak but despite this Dexter is a highly watchable drama with a strong storyline. Sure the ending is a little bizarre but compared to most American dramas it is original, well acted and ground in reality, if a fantastic reality.

All I am going to say is, YOU MUST SEE THIS SERIES!!! It is uttery brilliant, dark and totally gripping, I have seen both series one and just finished watching series two, both of them darkly delicious!

It took a while for me to get into the characters in this - it seemed a bit unfocussed to begin with but as the wedding looms and the characters get together and start getting mixed up with each other the film became really enjoyable and there were a lot of laugh-out-loud scenes and lines. I thought it was going to be a disappointing film but by the end was really enjoying it and loved the ending.

Watched this movie recently and i was quite dissapointed, i found this lengthly film about potential corruption in the mayor's office very hard to follow and found myself repeating scenes just to try an pick up the thread of the story. The legend that is Al Pacino plays his part well while John Cusack and Bridget Fonda turn in good performances but even that does'nt save this confusing an ungripping film.
