This film, which I saw many years ago, yet still haunts my memory is my answer to the question, "What's the worst film you've ever seen?" My answer is always, and I mean always, 'Waiting to exhale, with Whitney Houston'. That is three hours of my life that I want back. I rest my case.

Nick Marshall(Mel Gibson) works for an advertising company and on discoving that he has not been promoted and that Darcy McGuire(Helen Hunt) has got the job instead he sets out to sabotage her. Darcy sends each of the people on her team including Nick home with a kit of products that need representation. Mel has no ideas so decides to borrow some of his daughter's music and get into the woman psychy and try all the products on! Though in doing so he manages to electicute himself and ends up hearing every womans thought, including the thoughts of poodles!

Not only does Nick find out that everyone hates him, he also finds himself seriously falling for the woman he set out to destroy.

Romantic comedy in which Mel Gibson stars as a chauvinistic advertising executive who one day after a freak accident finds that he can hear women's thoughts, and uses this to his advantage, not least of all in the workplace. An intriguing premise that makes a lot of its comic potential but I felt that more could have been done with the idea and the ending is a big let-down. Could and should be better.

I really enjoyed this film and it had moved me a lot. T.D. Jakes had put together a great cast to bring such a moving and powerful story. Kimberly Elise did a superb job as abuse victim Michelle Jordan whose life went spiraling down a black hole after her "innocence was stolen," and also dealing with trust issues from her standpoint as well as others. Loretta Divine, as the mother, done a great job showing us her emotional struggles between her daughter and her boyfriend. Debbie Morgan showed us how humorous, comforting, and a good adviser she is to her family friends and of course Clifton Powell couldn't be anymore convincing as the snake-in-the grass boyfriend.

I don't think the Urban Legends series gets the attention it deserves. The quality of the films goes down with each sequel (with the third having nothing at all to do with the first two films), but it's still a darn good trio of horror movies. This is a great buy for those who don't already have all three films (especially the first two) in their DVD libraries.

Most of my high regard for the series is due to the original. Far from being a Scream clone, it is one of the most impressive slasher films of recent years, in my opinion. The suspense is sustained throughout, the identification of the killer is handled superbly, and the ending is well-nigh perfect. I purchased this film purely on the strengh of tim roth and andy garcia and was pleasently surprised. Although sometimes lethargic the films keeps you interested with some good gun battles and a well worked script. But i still feel it lacks that extra something which makes a good gangster film truly great!

I purchased this film purely on the strengh of tim roth and andy garcia and was pleasently surprised. Although sometimes lethargic the films keeps you interested with some good gun battles and a well worked script.
