This film demands on putting every person into sterioticial roles, even on the front cover it has pictures of the main charecters and labels them like Geek or Sex freak. This can be sometimes funny but mainly annoying because nobody is just one thing. This film is slightly surial and although having a frankly ludicrous basis it handles it with humour and charm. Not being an American teen movie its significantly less glossy and is much more gritty. After being set up on a date this girl desides to go to this virtual reality confrence where she desighnes her perfect man. but while she is making him there is a explosion and the man she creats come to life. The plot is based upon the adventures of 'Robin Hood's' Daughter, hence the title 'Princess of Thieves,' played by none other than 'Keira Knightly.' This film has much in common with the film 'Pirates of the Carribean,' exhibited by the perfect combination of humour, romance and adventure.

This is one of Keira Knightly's first films and you might expect this not to be worth watching. However, 'Knightly' gives a mature performance with acting talents equal to that as seen in 'Pirates of the Carribean.' The rest of the cast are also well chosen and deliver a surperb performance. Disney as usual make it great viewing for all ages and ensures that this film really delivers.

Having read the books, I wondered how on earth they would manage to do them justice on the television. I have to say, I thought the acting was absolutely first-rate, without a shadow of a doubt: I can't think of any weak characters, and some of them were simply outstanding: Charles Stringham descending into alcoholism and reborn, but completely destroyed in the process; Widmerpool, played, I think, by the same actor all the way through the series, and always more or less ridiculous; Pamela Widmerpool, played by Miranda Richardson, having some marvelous lines as she turns one male head after another; and then gentle Nick Jenkins, who appears to be the only sane person in the whole mad world.
