No matter what anyone says, and no matter what happens, no other musical can beat the one and only "Rocky Horror Picture Show"! Seriously! I know I may be exaggerating, but tied with the Baz Luhrman classic Moulin Rouge!, this is THE greatest musical of all time!

What I like most about "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is the fact that it has its own inventive style. I mean, look at musicals like Mary Poppins and Sound of Music (both good films by the way). While they have people singing nice lovely songs aimed at families, RHPS tells about a "Sweet Transvestite" and his servants whom dance to "The Time Warp". How many musicals use THAT idea? this film has everything the modern film usually lacks,these include-script,plot,acting,lovable characters,relavent music,iconic scenes,and become a cult classic.
there are tonnes of scenes that everyone will love its a hilarious movie with some very outragious scenes(very raunchy and(homo)erotic)which i love!!!
its a classic film that everyone needs to see.

I had the original videos for years. Read the books by Robert Graves until the covers fell off. Five stars apart from BB What a ham. He lets his generation down and should never have been included in the cast. The rest of the cast are jewels of their age not so BB Glad to see he is no longer heard of.Up Pompei would have loved him

This film is one of the funniest film's EVER!!!!!.
Bette Milder & Lily Tomlin are pure gold to watch.
It's got a really simple plot, In a small town of Jupiter Hollow, two sets of identical twins are born in the same hospital on the same night. One set to a poor local family and the other to a rich family just passing through. Then the story flashes forward to the 1980's where the mismatched sets of twins are about to cross paths following a big business deal to closedown the Jupiter Hollow factory. The film is shot in New York.
Bette Midler is Fxxxing brillant in this film and will have you laughing every second of this film as the poor Sadie,

Sebastiane is a rather controversial movie but for those who wish to build up an eclectic library of DVDs then it would be a useful addition.

The film is famous of course for the graphic and cold brutality of the final scene. Overall though it's actually a rather slow film as it follows the tribulations (including boredom) of a group of Roman soldiers in the hot and barren Mediterranean countryside. Essentially, it charts the day-to-day happenings of the group and how they ended up executing the title character in such dramatic fashion (with multiple arrow shots from very close range).

Some characters are particularly annoying (e.g. Max) but what would you expect from a bunch of squaddies thrown together in baking heat at close quarters? ... Read More:

Arlo Guthrie is not honestly an actor, nor is he as talented a musician as his father Woody Guthrie, but he, and the rest of the cast put together a 'folksy' low-budget movie with lots to see and in which the Hippie lifestyle is well portrayed. It was the world that people like Bob Dylan and Pete Seeger (who plays a cameo role) came from. They were icons of the 60's protest movment that launched the powerful opposition to the Vietnam War.

With the current remake of Neil Simon's 'The Goodbye Girl' showing on television at the moment, it reminded me of this original film production, one of the better films from the 1970s, and one of the better films to derive from a Broadway play to keep much of the same character as the play. This film won numerous awards: Best Actor Oscar/Best Actor Golden Globe/Best Actor BAFTA for Richard Dreyfus; Best Picture Golden Globe; Best Actress Golden Globe/Best Actress Oscar Nomination for Marsha Mason; Best Supporting Actress Oscar Nomination for Quinn Cummings; Best Writing Oscar Nomination for Neil Simon, and the list goes on...

Can't quite believe the other reviewer was watching the same film. The songs in this one are far superior to the ones in Rocky, I would go so far as to say that this is the best of the 2. Plot is fairly straight-forward, and Brad and Janet are played by 2 far superior actor/singers.

Not actually seen the DVD version but have a VHS of this. Don't quite understand why this flopped, but it is well worth a watch, and should be more readily available on it's own.

The 1 star is for the fact that there are no extras on this edition, not the film, which I love (and would probably give 4 stars for).

Get the 2 Disc version instead, it's an absolute joy - tons of great extras!!

I was so pleased when "Fortunes of War" was released on DVD! When I first saw this splendid BBC television series, I rushed to the nearest bookstore and bought Olivia Manning's mammoth Balkan and Levant trilogies, which I have since devoured at least three times. Reading, however, in no way lessens, but, instead, enhances one's enjoyment of "Fortunes of War," which preserves the essence of Manning's novels. Visually stunning, the film recreates Bucharest and Athens on the brink of World War II, and then Cairo and Alexandria, as well as Damascus and Jerusalem. One step ahead of the advancing Nazi armies, Guy and Harriet Pringle, the film's central characters, are constantly uprooted and forced to be on the move.
