House, can only be described as brilliant. Not in the way as a teenager would describe it in the way of being cool or just generally entertaining, but brilliant as in genius. I could talk about season one for hours as it's truly the season that defines the character and sets in stone Hugh Laurie's cracking of America. Hugh Laurie, for those who don't know is a famous British comic actor best known for his work with Stephen Fry. Such shows as Jeeves & Wooster, A Bit of Fry & Laurie & Blackadder made this man a true comic god. Upon hearing that Hugh had taken up the role as the American Dr. Gregory House, I'm sure a lot of people took a big sigh and said to themselves "Oh, please god no." How wrong those people were when Laurie stepped ... Read More:

After the triumphant debut of the first season of House, many people believed it couldn't be topped. How wrong they were. Season Two not only shut up all the skeptics, it slapped them for even being doubtful. Season Two not only had the absence of the annoying character of Vogler, it gave us a deeper insight into all the characters. At the end of Season One we were introduced to House's ex Stacy. During Season Two we're given a more complex look on their past and their true relationship. The Stacy/House episodes introduce to the fans a deeper complexity to House and we see a more genuine side, rather than the typically cynical House we're used to.
There is one episode which I found a bit too much and felt it was pushing to be controversial. ... Read More:

Error 1) Bald guard from bus is being congratulated for saving the stabbed guard (who was actually saved by Kimble) - The stabbed guard then turns up later and everyone acts as if he's just been found "under the train".
Error 2) The supposedly "smart" Marshal tries to shoot Kimble during the prisoner visit when he obviously knows full well that he's innocent from the scene at the hospital.

Ever since 'Dirty Dancing' burst into our lives in the 1980's a string of dance movies have followed all striving to break into that special niche market that Dirty Dancing identified. We've since had 'Step Up', 'Save the Last Dance', 'Strictly Ballroom', 'Take the Lead' and 'Shall we Dance' to name but a few and they have all more or less had varying degrees of success. While the dancing in these movies is always excellent the storyline often leaves alot to be desired
Thankfully Dirty Dancing 2 at least makes an effort to avoid the over-worked storylines of its predessors. Yes it's still far from original being as usual the story of girl meets boy, girl discovers the passion of dance and surprise surprise falls in love with boy but what makes this movie different ... I'm a huge fan of the mythos of the origial Studio 54, but unfortunately Miramax wouldn't let Mark Christopher have the final say. Ryan Phillipe's suprisingly good performance is cut, to highlight his torso and pout - and Mike Myers isn't given HALF enough time to show off his amazing take on Steve Rubell. Neve Cambell is as dull as usual, but gladly her on screen time is very limited.
Overall, quite a depressing film - but only in the same way that Saturday Night Fever isn't a disco at all - it's a harsh telling of a 70s story.
I was pleasantly surprised by this film, but it would have been SO much better if Miramax had let Christopher do what he intended, and kept all the cuts. What we need is a director's cut - that would get 5 stars.
