As many before have kindly reviewed the story, I will leave at that. What I can add is that our 3 years old loved every second of it! Haven't been able to stop her from trying kung fu kicks since!

Had some time to kill and went to see this film. Given the overhype of the Narnia films and several other book adaptations I was surprised and delighted to find out it was great entertainment and well worth the ticket price.
Freddie Highmore does a superb job playing identical twins Jared and Simon, identical by looks but not by attitude and mannerisms, who have moved to a rural house once owned by their great uncle. Jared, who is always getting into trouble, finds a large and mysterious book about the magical realm all around the house written by his great uncle many years before.
The plot may be a little scary for younger children but it's fast paced and very watchable.

This film sucks! The script, direction and storyline are sooooo dull! OK, the acting's not too bad and there are a couple of mildly amusing moments but we were itching for the credits to roll after about an hour.
In the right context, I really don't mind swearing in films but obscene language seems to have been added for no other reason than to raise the age classification to 15 (UK). This really doesn't make sense as the target audience (12 year old girls) will miss out on seeing this. I wouldn't waste my time unless, of course, you're a 12 year old girl.

When you compare this film to shrek 1 and 2 it doesen't stand up as well, i did a bit of research and found out the director was a first timer, which is a classic Hollywood mistake, that i personaly find insulting. Why give a huge summer movie like shrek to a first time director? Clearly the first timer shows that he's not really up to the job, it is as if he missed the point of shrek completely. Where the first two shreks were kids films that parents could enjoy and laugh along with as well, its as if this is neither for kids or parents and misses the mark in several places. It is clear they have overfocused on glossy CGI production,(which is really beautiful) and not thought through the core of the story and jokes etc. Where as shrek 1+2 were built around ... Read More:

Firstly, i didn't expect much when this film started and much to my suprise my expectations grew worse as the film continued.
There are jokes that will make you laugh, but only if you have the intelligence lower than a 5 year old with severe learning difficulties. Now don't get me wrong, i have enjoyed previous films made by the same people, it's just that everything about the film is lack-lustre, from the performances to the script.
It seems that the writers just tried to make a film that would attract people because of their previous successes.
So i strongly recommend you go elsewhere if you want a comedy, as the only thing funny about this debacle is the attempt the actors make to save their credibility.

Wasn't expecting much of this when we (my wife and I) sat down to watch it, but we were both pleasantly surprised. It is at times quite crude, but always hugely likeable with a warm, freindly demeanour and a good, contrasting mix of sometimes insane, but never nasty or boring characters and silly situations. It's essentially a blokey chick flick that should appeal to both sexes. As long as you're not prudes!

Quite simply one of the worst movies I have ever seen - definitely in my top 10 worst of all time. Very few amusing parts - the main character is so irritating that he actually does provide the most laughs - but only when he is being run over AGAIN. It is almost impossible to have any empathy with any of the main characters as people simply do not behave like that (the initial porn site discussion with his best mate being a case in point) in the real world and those that do are the sort of irritating losers who you try to avoid, not spend 1.5 hours of your life watching in the vain hope something truly horrible is about to happen to them. AVOID.

Yup it's yet another animals as humans cartoons with a moral to tell. But don't let that put you off because this is a cut above the usual.
It's time to pick a chosen one whose kung-fu skills will hold back the terror of the snow leopard Tai lung's escape. Sensei Shifu holds a tournament fully expecting one of his 5 top notch students to step up & take the title of 'dragon warrior'. Instead overweight noodle waiter Panda Po accidently finds himself in the arena & being picked out as the chosen one by the great one Oogway.
Through the opposition of the 5 pupils & their teacher & his own doubts Po finally finds himself facing off against Tai Lung.
Not much of a plot but it's delivery has a refreshingly different angle. Po is funny as ... Read More:

A sweet film with a good message; Horton Hears A Who features a not-over-the top Jim Carry as the voice of Horton, savior of all the Whos in Who-Ville. The film showcases the need to make your voice heard, even if what you're saying happens to fly in the face of conventional wisdom. A lesson everyone (young and old) should take to heart. There are plenty of jokes for Mom & Dad (a particularly funny JKF reference comes to mind) and lots of giggles for kiddos. My seven-year-old was thoroughly entertained throughout, even cheering and chanting "We are here!" at the pivotal point of the film.
I can't help but think Dr. Seuss would be proud...
