The second series of Saxondale is even better than the first. Episode 1 is realy a summation of the 1st series character of Tommy Saxondale from there on his vista expands and takes in more characters in a broader scope of situations and the comedy is all the better for it.
It looks like the BBC will not take a 3rd series and so MacClennan and Coogan's scripts have everything thrown into them.
Commision editors at the BBC seem to have lost their marbles; while some idiot in the drama department writes a cheque for the diabolical Bonekickers another puts the book away in the comedy department.
Saxondale, it seems will go the way of Hyperdrive - loveable and funny characters consigned to the dustbin marked ... Read More:

I'll be honest here: I thought Shaun of the Dead was OKAY. Not amazing, definitely worth 4 stars, but not as stratospherically brilliant as everyone made it out to be (in my opinion!).
With Hot Fuzz, however, the tables turned. I came to this film with average expectations, expecting a decent-ish cop comedy. What I got blew me away.
The film felt bigger, smarter, faster...and funnier. Watching it first time around was good enough, and full of laughs (It's hard to say what kind of comedy style it is. Most would say black comedy, but there's a bit of everything here, especially tongue-in-cheek).
But I think the real beauty of Hot Fuzz is the subtlety and sheer number of references it makes. Whether it's spotting a ... Read More:

For anyone who hasn't actually seen this series: it really IS as good as the customer reviews suggest. It's a testament to Steve Coogan's amazing performance that, although Partridge is every bit as loathsome as The Office's David Brent, it's impossible not to like him! Every episode is brilliantly written, with 1, 3 and 5 particularly great. I suppose episode 4 is the weakest, but it's still about fifty times better than other sitcoms. Outstanding.

The answer is....YES! I think this series is actually better than the first one, which is high praise indeed. The dialogue is more hilarious than ever, there are some great supporting characters and Coogan has reached genius level with his portrayal of Partridge. In my humble opinion, episode 3 ("Bravealan")is the best 30 minutes of tv comedy anywhere EVER. There are a couple of scenes that don't quite come off, notably a muddled scene in episode 6 where Alan guests on a christian radio show. But it's churlish to criticise because overall it's a masterpiece.

The humour travels round with you it's so darn good.
I can't go on holiday without thinking 'This is a high clarrrss bureau de chawnge!' at least once, or see the weather forecast in the lift without thinking 'Breezes', or listen to Phil Collins without thinking 'Ahpumpedherfulloflead, becauseshewasan....Uuuuuzi luvvvah.'

To some people, Alan Partridge may be just too odious to watch. Tommy Saxondale is a nicer guy, just a bit of a plonker at times. So, this may be a comedy for some to appreciate the talent of Steve Coogan.
I think Tommy Saxondale is his best character since Partridge. Maybe there is some of Partridge in him, or is that Steve Coogan !
I am a big fan of Alan Partridge so was pleased when this new character came along. I thought the first series very good, and the second, even better. Just wish it would come out on DVD.

This film brought home to me why I pay my TV licence (reference to the BBC and good period drama's), as a period drama it was completely unbelievable, whether it was the American accents, or modern dialogue, or may be even the modern sound track, it just doesn't work.
With regards to the story line, the only good thing I can say about this film is, that it left so many unanswered questions that I had to spend longer on the internet finding out what actually happened, than I did watching the film. Then I realised how much was just skipped over giving a completely false impression of Marie and the current situation.

Let me just say right now that I agree with a viewer from Somerset... brilliant. I would have rated it 6 stars, but Amazon will only allow 5.
Perfect comedy, perfect timing. You will not regret buying 'Knowing Me, Knowing You With Alan Partridge' or 'KMKYWAP' for short, or simply, 'The Alan Partridge Show'.
