Well, well, well, what can I say? After seeing this film the first time I got hooked and I watched it over and over and over again.
You see, with most films you can watch them two or three times and that's it. But with Sweeney Tood, much like a CD, you can watch more than two or three times as it's the music that captivates you, in the same way you can listen to a CD more than two or three times. It's more like a visual musical concept album, with 70% singing and 30% talking.
On top of that the scenery is breathtakingly dark and gothic, as you'd expect from a Tim Burton film. The characters are not trained singers, but by all means they're not bad at all. I was very impressed with it all, as it was Johnny Depp's first time singing, ... Read More:

this was such a treat, as a big fan of disney i was expecting nothing but the best, and i got it!!How refreshing to see a genuinely funny, warm and animated/reality film that can still be produced by those geniuses!!

The film itself is well shot and the effects are very good which almost goes without saying these days. The script is plain and lacking any kind of natural dialogue, and the acting is of the usual wooden standard but the well known adults make up for that. But what about the story itself?
Well when I read the book, and then in the film, it struck me early on that alarm bells should have been ringing when Harry's name magically appears in the Tri Wizard Tournament. If it's been known to be fatal in the past and that the tasks are extremely dangerous even for older students, well if we consider that Lord V is intent on killing Harry isn't it likely there's a connection? Nobody sees this. And the whole goblet port-key issue is overlooked as well, as if nobody ... Read More:

I have been watching Auf Weidershen Pet since the day it was first show on TV and I felt it somewhat sad that the Special will be the last time that we see the "lads" doing what they do best, making us all feel good. For those Aufpet fans out there they could not have asked for a better ending to a absolutly wonderful series that has given them so much joy over the past 20 years.

The Philosopher's Stone was ok and The Chamber of Secrets bored me to tears....so I just have to say that this movie was excellent. I'm 31 and don't normally like stuff like this but The Prisoner of Azkaban is an exception to the rule. Entertaining, atmospheric and great cinematography. I will definately buy this one but not the rest.

Whatever the pros and cons of capital punishment and how the vistims of it were "chosen" to participate this film does not set out to pass judgement. Indeed reading between the lines of his autobiography it was precicely this point which gave Pierrpoint moments of doubt, this is only touched upon in the film. What it does show very well without sensationalising it was the sheer dedication and precision he employed in doing his task. He was compassionate to those he had to dispatch even if they were among the most ruthless and merciless killers in existance (see the scene of execution of Nazi war criminals). You will wonder why places like America seem to make such a hash of things taking for ever to get it done when Pierrpoint could painlessly execute someone in less than 30 seconds ... Read More:
