All the hype when it was at the cinema. Hailed as the new Grease. It just didn't appeal to me. No musical could possibly beat Grease and it would be so overrated. So when I saw it at my local supermarket for cheap I thought i'd give it a try and I almost kicked myself after watching it. Not for spending money on it but for not seeing it on the big screen. The songs are so beautifully sung by a magnificent cast and so catchy you just want to sing along and be apart of it. I immediately ordered the soundtrack when it finished. Nikki Blonsky was cast perfectly as Tracy Turnblad and Zac Efron (I don't usually like him in HSM but he won me round in this) was the right choice of Link. John Travolta also had me laughing in every one of his scenes as ... Read More:

In The Wedding Planner Jennifer Lopez acts as a woman who sets up weddings for other people but who is very cynical about the
ceremony herself (we find out why during the course of the film). She falls in love with Matthew Mcconaughey who is engaged to one of her friends and tries to do the right thing by helping them to get married. The Wedding Planner, itself, tries to be an old-fashioned movie from fifty or so years ago set in modern times. It succeeds in doing this but there are big errors in the script (in one instance the characters are delivered some news that in real life I'm sure would have left people speechless but in the storyline they accept with nonchalance).Nevertheless,Mcconaughey and Lopez are engaging enough to make this a film worth ... Ok... this movie (sequel to Cheaper By The Dozen 1) is seriously rubbish.....
It's extremely boring, no laughs as in the 1st version, the family stays on holiday (vacation) for most of the film.
Nora (Piper Perabo) the oldest of the Baker children, gives birth to the first Baker grandchild towards the end of the film, which I would say, is the only good bit...
DO NOT BUY THIS MOVIE, IT MAY LOOK GOOD, BUT YOU'LL WANT TO GET RID OF IT AFTER ABOUT A WEEK OR SO. ALL THE LAUGHS, CHAOS ETC IS IN THE ORIGINAL VERSION "CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN". SO JUST BUY THAT. REALLY GIVE NUMBER 2 A MISS.

This is not the sort of movie I go for, but having read a few glowing reviews elsewhere about the film and the quality of picture and sound, and given that it is selling for well under £10, I thought I'd try it. If you don't like musicals then its best to avoid, but I don't mind them and hoped this would be entertaining part of the film. From the outset, the movie is crammed with songs, maybe one or two could be better or one or two less for me, and a little more dialogue. I felt it became a bit too broadway, but seeing as this is taken from the stageshow I can see how it's turned out that way. Some people are saying it's the new Grease or some are going OTT and saying it's better, but I can report IMO, it's not in the same Grade. On the upside though, ... Read More:

When you look at Steve Martins track record for comedy films; Cheaper By The Dozen, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Parenthood, and Planes Trains & Automobiles, you know that this film is a winner, and the fact the he is teamed up with Queen Latifa only adds to the fun. By the end you come away having enjoyed watching it, but its not quite as funny as you originally think. Don't get me wrong its a nice film, and Steve Martin is brilliant, but its the script that lets it down just that little bit.
Steve Martin plays Peter Sanderson, a moody, uptight lawyer who is too obsessed with his work to spend time with his two kids Sarah and Georgey. However his whole life is completely tipped upside down when he meets Charlene in a legaleagle chatroom and they arrange to meet. ... Read More:
