Being immensely impressed with the new Dr Who, I was naturally intrigued by a spin-off from the same team. I shouldn't have bothered. What a load of old tut. There's every cliché in the book, right from the opening credits with the line of serious people walking ever-so-determinedly in slow motion towards the camera.
I sat through 4 or 5 episodes, of which only one was amusing (the nymphomaniac) then stuck the lot back in its box and returned it for a refund. (Which Amazon promptly paid, so I'm not complaining!)

If you love Doctor Who, you'll love this.
However, if you any very young children, don't let them watch it, as it is full of sex, artirial spray, and expletives.
Best for teenagers and adults.
Torchwood is a crime, thriller, sci-fi show: many great genres in one series.
Yet the best episode, Small Worlds, doesn't really involve much crime at all...it's about fairies.
The 4 episodes on this DVD release contain 2 strong episodes, and two which didn't feel as strong. I wavered on giving this 3 stars but ultimately felt it deserved 4.
Countricide was a fantastic episode, probability the best on this release - a good dose of scariness and gruesome scenes!
Greeks Bearing Gifts (Episode 7) was a great too. We got to see more of Toshiko, but some of the early scenes seemed a bit contrived just for that episode to make sure we knew that she felt like a bit of an outsider. Still, it was nice to see her 'bloom' as a character. Daniela Denby-Ashe was brilliant as Mary. Another sexually charged episode, and it worked in this episode - it didn't feel as though it was there just for the sake of it like ... Read More:

This is my favourite Series of Teachers. With Simon (the main character) now taking a backseat, this series allows the other characters to develop. Most notibly Brian & Kirk, who are like a Morecombe & Wise double-act, getting the most laughs from this series.

Contrary to popular belief of most Teachers' fans, i have to say i enjoyed this series thoroughly, and believe it to be the best series so far. Granted, Simon, Susan and Jenny are no longer a part of the series, but you still have the ever hilarious Brian and Kurt for amusement, and the addition of new comers Matt and Penny, who add more variety to the series. My only criticism of the series has to be that the final plotline at the end of the series wasnt concluded, and you are left hanging in disbelief at the outcome of those events. Buy it though and you won't be disappointed!

Having recently seen series 4 of Teachers, I felt compelled to view the previous three series. This DVD really is very funny, and great viewing! I was not disappointed. Laugh and enjoy!
