This movie is worth buying for the amazing special effects and for the stunning scenes of post-apocalyptic New York. Will Smith puts in a solid performance as (almost) sole survivor of the 'zombie' plague, ably supported by his canine co-star. The first hour or so of the movie is fast-paced and dramatic as the story unfolds. Unfortunately, it then moves down a gear or so, loses its way, and almost peters out with a most unsatisfactory and unresolved ending. A missed opportunity, as a little further development of the story would have made such a difference.

This film is 'I Am Legend' in name only, it bears very little relation to the book of the same name. This aside, it is a fairly good movie with post apocalyptic themes and a storyline that will keep you interested for the 96 minutes duration. Will Smith plays the role of the relationship starved army medical researcher well. You really feel for him when he talks to mannequins and at his relationship with his dog. The action is pretty good, although the computer graphics left a lot to be desired, both the various animals and the 'dark seekers' seemed very dated compared to other computer graphics films. This is an OK film, that should keep you watching until the end. As long as you don't expect a faithful rendering of the book you should be fine. Watch ... Read More:

I have not written a review for quite some time and after reading and hearing some of the negative criticism about this film i felt i had to give my opinion after watching it last week. In fact i almost didn't watch it based on some of the complaints i heard, such as: "The C.G.I. monsters are awful and really fake looking", "The ending sucks", erm yeah and that's about it, I don't think I've heard an other issues with it.
SO, first of all this is not a typical action film, the Initial scenes echo loneliness and desolation, and I felt these scenes were truly amazing to behold, evoking sadness and compassion, seeing the wild-life roaming free in a once never sleeping city and the plant life breaking it's way through the concrete is truly breathtaking and allows ... When a Mexican finds the Spear of Destiny (aka the Spear of Longinus) amidst ruins, it sets off a chain of events that could lead to a Hell-fueled Armageddon on Earth. Enter John Constantine (Keanu Reeves), freelance demon-hunter, and Los Angeles detective Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz), who are to play roles in the ongoing "battle" between heaven and hell.
Judging Constantine on visuals, style and attitude, it would easily earn a 10. But as we learn in the film, "there's always a catch". The catch is that the story is a bit of a mess. It was problematic enough to earn a 7 out of 10, or a C, and just barely. For much of its length, I was prepared to give it a 6.
Scriptwriters Kevin Brodbin and Frank A. Cappello seem to want to throw in everything, including ... Read More:

Although this DVD is lacking in extras (there aren't any), the sheer quality and diversity of Green Day videos more than makes up for it!
From the early 'Dookie'-era to the pre-'American Idiot' vids of 'Warning', this collection showcases a dozen image changes for the band - Billie Joe undergoing a transformation from nose-pierced bratty teenager delivering angst-ridden punk anthems to subdued, vulnerable balladeer in videos like 'Good Riddance' and 'Redundant'.
Highlights include 'Longview', a low budget video of the band with all their blemishes, shot in Billie Joe's front room, where he happily hacks away at his sofa, and the elegantly stylish 'Hitchin' A Ride', whilst the sports-homage 'Nice Guys Finish Last', the cartoonish 'Basket Case' and the ingenious ... I watched this movie knowing nothing about the comic books or the story line and after reading alot of bad reviews I put off watching this. Then my mum made me watch it, and I loved it!
On this UMD, there are no special features, just the movie. Its a film about a excorcist named John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) and if you hate bad acting, it is in this but it somehow suited the character. Who finds out he has lung cancer and when he dies, he has one place to go, down. Then Racheal Weiz comes asking for help to find her sisters murderer even though she commited suicide. On their journey to the truth, they uncover a plot to bring Lucifer's son up to earth using Rachael Weiz! But, ignore these reviews and watch and judge for yourself.

The story is simple; self-centered John Constantine: Hellblazer (Keanu Reeves) did a "no no" in his youth ensuring him a place in the underworld and to compound the problem he is to be short lived due to a smoking habit.
Mean time he, due to his accident he has the ability to see angles and demons. Even though he is conceited and knows where he will be going he still finds time to do some good for mankind and in the process send a few demons back where they came from.
Something has gone horribly wrong with the balance. And with the aid of his young sidekick and a medium that is well done by (Rachel Weisz) he intends to get to the nature of the problem.
The character of Constantine comes from the DC comic world and has been modified a tad to fit a movie with ... Read More:
