Watched this a few years back but couldn't get on with the animation style. It was bought as a present for my 4yo who loves it. On re-watching I didn't have the same animation prejudice simply because Tim Burton has made it more 'acceptable'. Shallow of me I know but there you go.
The Aunts are fantastic in the 'real-life' section although I couldn't get on with the boy. Pete Postlethwaite still gives me the creeps (although that's from the Sharpe TV series rather than this film).
In the animated section the bugs are all pretty good and the boy gets better.
The songs are OK but I didn't find them particularly catchy.

MonkeyBone is a very odd tale full of werid things going on and a very annoying monkey. There are plenty of laughs in this but it's very rude and probably not suitable for tweleve years old, maybe a higher rating would do better. But it's not without laughs and romance, Brendan Fraser is a classic in this and totally not taking himself seriously. It's worth seeing and having a laugh, just wished they killed off the monkey during the film. Argh!

Tim Burton's cult classic, The Nightmare Before Christmas has always been held a special place in the hearts of countless people - including myself - that have grown up with the film. The creepy hellish innocence that Burton always manages to bring to his films was never so prominent as in this masterpiece.
Now, celebrating it's 15th Anniversary, the re-release of the soundtrack has fully embraced the alternative goth/rock/metal subculture that holds NBC so dearly. The songs we know and love have all been re-invented and some of the choices of acts to undertake this mammoth task are absolutely spot on. Amy Lee's powerful rendition of Sally's Song is incredibly moving, while Korn's interpretation of Kidnap The Sandy Claws is a thrashing angry ... Read More:

Great entertainment for all the family, in a well presented, space saving box! A good range of animated films combined with live ones. Even if you haven't seen one of them the themes combine really well. They are all excellent.
