I have to agree with the other reviewers, this was by far one of the best original comedy dramas shown on British TV in a long while. Whilst extremely disappointed that they ended after only 3 series it was wise to end on a high!
This is a show full of hilarious and witty script writing, but also has its tender moments to full effect. All the main actresses were perfectly cast as the naughty northern nurses and definitely make the show top draw!

Skins was pretty much the first teen sitcom that was targeted at 14-20 year olds but with the censor of 18 (others are Hollyoaks & Home & Away).
Skins is about six friends living in northern England (despite the varied accents of the young cast).
It could be argued that Tony is the star of the show, he's the typically cocky, good looking guy who is able to get out of any bad situation he faces. The sitcom (of a mere 8 episodes) follows the six teens, the first few episodes are insights into the most prominent characters.

With a bit of luck, they would have, without ruining things.
Series 1. Well nigh perfect. Eccentric supporting characters usually have me reaching for the shotgun, but here they are quite over the top, generally annoying, and just all round brilliant.
Even the Receptionist character change in Series 2 was carried off well. How many other series could manage that? Katherine Parkinson should have had an impossible task in taking Lucy Punch's part, after she had done an Alan Rickman, yet she managed it without any seeming effort - just complementing the role, if anything, while ruling, like she always does.
The Christmas 2006 Special was very strange indeed. You'd think after two series, everyone was settled ... Read More:

When I started this I wasn't sure if this was going to be my cup of tea but as it went on, I got hooked. As the episodes pass, you get to see more and more of the background of these girls and understand why they do the things they do! Funny yet sad at times - you start rooting for the girls and hope all ends well for them! This is great acting - you watch their faces and see what appears to be real emotion on their faces. This is my cup of tea - acting as opposed to bland all American sitcom!
