This DVD is a very good buy. The story is quite simple compared to other noteable anime like akira or ghost in the shell, but this does not subtract from the film.

The dubbings dont match but its very hard to make japanese dubs because they don't use the same syntax as us. The english voices arn't great but they are ok for a dub. I recommend listening to the japanese with english subtitles its much more interesting and the songs are better.

One other negative point is that it may be rated a PG but really there are depictive (if quite short) scenes of nudity, so this isn't really that suitable for younger children.

These were the first episodes of the series I watched, and if you can't afford to buy the entire series this is a good place to start.It may seem a little confsing to begin but there is enough background information provided in the episodes for you to get a basic understanding of the character relationships and story. Two excellent episodes to an excellent series.

The review which indicates that this is a continuation of the Tokyo Bubblegum Crisis 2040 series but with different characters is completely incorrect. This is from the original Bubblegum Crisis series which was later remade with better funding and changed characters, plot-line and conclusion as BC 2040. There are widely ranging views as to whether the original or the remake is the better: certainly BC 2040 has greater cohesion and characterization, although the desire to produce a coherent and conclusive ending is not fully realized. In general, Japanese anime creators seem capable of weaving wonderfully convoluted and subtle plot-threads into the fabric of their animations, but rarely seem able to resolve these in a way which makes for a complete ... BGC 2040 is an excellent anime series.....

The plot is thought-provoking and every characer is explored regarding their goals, inner desires, etc. The action is good, and the character design excellent!

Highly recommended!

i love this series it was the first animay i wached and the first epesode i saw was no 5 and even tho i dident know the story i was hooked, This is a great series in this particular dvd we can start to learn more about the knight sabers and there fealings for certan people. the designs for the boomers and the hardsuits are exelent in detail and shape if you want to now if you should buy this or no i say GO FOR IT!! you cant go wrong.

Bubblegum Crash was the first became interested in the Bubblegum Crisis Saga. During the opening of that three part animé I thought that the Knight Sabers were the bad guys and the AD Police were after them. Then as I watched the animé I saw I was wrong. Guess you can't judge an animé by its opening credits. I thought it was great, even though many did not think it was on par with the original. When I watched the original I was wary. I thought it could not be as good as Crash. How wrong I was a gain. It was much better with longer and more interesting storylines. By watching I could feel how dark and depressive the whole world had become.
