If you have watched the series from start to finish, then this is an obvious must see. And whilst i did really enjoy the movie i do not think it was perfect.
Good points: Great action, compelling plot, good overall ending to the series.
Bad Points: They didn't round up some of the other characters stories (Winry for example). I wasn't convinced by the story and found it a bit botched in places, i thought it was a good idea to include aspects of our world into the overall story but to be honest i was expecting a little more alchemy.
Overall: A great way to end a fantastic series and a must watch. However, for me it failed to live up to the epic standards of the series and really i would give "The Conquer ... Read More:

The tenth volume of the brilliant Fullmetal Alchemist kicks of with something of a comic relief episode. In episode thirty seven we spend the day with Mustang and his gang while they try to get a date for Havoc and investigate the ghostly Warehouse 13. Episode thirty eight returns to following the Elric brothers as they attempt to get to the ruins of Ishbal but after a fight the two split up before finding a new guide who will lead them onwards. In episode thirty nine, having found the devastation of Ishbal the brothers are told the true story of what happened there before the story comes full circle as they rejoin the military as they prepare to attack the town of Liore where the brothers exposed a false priest in the first episode. In episode forty we ... Read More:

This second volume of Fullmetal Alchemist hits its stride and becomes an excellent show. In episode five the brothers are caught up in a terrorist attack on a train transporting a high ranking general and they use all their powers to defeat the terrorists and gain the thanks of the general. Episode six sees the brothers placed with an odd military alchemist to study for the exam that would see them become State Alchemists and Edward discovers he has skills that make him unique among alchemists. Episode seven takes a far darker tone than any of its predecessors when the alchemist the brothers are staying with takes extreme measures to maintain his founding and this episode shows what the series can do and doesn't pull its punches as much as you would expect. ... Before watching this show i had lost all interest in anime. the last anime i watched was Dragonball Z when i was around 9 years old. but after the follow up show GT and the fact that british tv is not good for anime, i lost interest for many years.
However my freind said to watch this show, Fullmetal Alchemist and give it shot, and lent me a copy of this dvd. The show had me hooked by the end of the first episode. it was smart, funny yet serious, and truely blew me away, given the fact that i hadn't heard of it. the dvd is what got me into possibly the greatest anime for a extremely long time, if not, in history. the dvd is the beginning of the series, and while it's not too exciting as later on will be, it gets the series going really well, and it's ... The brothers Elric continue their search for the Philosophers Stone but first Ed must complete his first official assignment as a State Alchemist, inspecting a mine in a backwater village that is in the grip of corrupt officials and leads to Ed becoming known as a hero of the people. Episode ten has the brothers returning from the events in the first two episodes of the series and taking a detour to a popular tourist destination. Unfortunately the town is under the grip of a cat burglar who uses alchemy to perpetrate her heists and the brothers are drawn into the investigation to stop her but they end up learning that not everything is black and white. The final two episodes see the brothers investigate a lead on someone researching the Philosophers Stone but instead find town ... Read More:

Following the events in the last volume, episode seventeen sees Ed and Al are forced to return to their home village for the first time in three years for repair and recuperation. While their Ed realises he left more there than he thought and Al is troubled when his memories seem to be fading. In episode eighteen the brothers return to Central in order to study Doctor Marcoh's research into the Philosophers Stone but discover Scar and the mysterious Homunculi were there first, destroying the research and the library with it. Despite this setback the brothers are able to reconstruct the notes with the help of an eccentric ex-librarian and discover the terrible secret of the Stones construction. In the final two episodes of this volume, Ed and Al search a seemingly abandoned laboratory ... Read More:

Throughout its run Fullmetal Alchemist barely had a dip in quality and this final volume is better than what has gone before despite the show reaching over fifty episodes. The three episodes of this volume could really be considered one long episode and it is exciting, touching and full of suspense. In this volume we get to find out the origins of the Homunculus Envy, discover the truth about alchemy and the brothers finally get the result they were searching for but in a way nether of them could expect. Fullmetal Alchemist has been an absolutely brilliant show, a must see for any fan of anime and I cannot wait to find out what happens in the movie Conqueror of Shamballa.

Volume four of Fullmetal Alchemist continues this brilliant series and gives some back-story on the world where the show is set and the quest for the Philosophers Stone. The volume kicks off with episode thirteen which has Ed duel his superior, the Flame Alchemist, Mustang to force him into giving up information on a lead. Although mainly something of a comic relief episode it is still good fun and well made.
Episodes fourteen and fifteen sees the brother's track down Doctor Marcoh whom they believe knows something about the Stone. Things don't go as the brother's plan when the Doctor is captured by the military only to escape when the scared stranger attacks and kills his escort. These two episodes are quite dark and give details of why the scared man hates alchemists ... Read More:

Episode 25 of Fullmetal Alchemist is one of the most emotional yet. With Ed and Al seemingly giving up their search for the Philosophers Stone this episode concentrates quite a bit on Hughes' investigation into lab five leading to considerable danger for him. The episode also has some interesting flashbacks explaining some of his relationship with Mustang. Episode 26 is a lighter hearted episode than the last with Ed, Al and Winry taking time out in the town of Rush Valley, home of the best auto-mail in the world. While their Ed cheats a couple of conmen out of their winnings and Winry decides to teach Ed a lesson about good auto-mail. In episode 27 the brothers' hardnosed former teacher Izumi catches up with them and takes them back to her home village to explain themselves. This is ... Read More:
