I've had this film recommended to me far too many times to count, but have always found an excuse to put off watch it - I've got exams coming up I must revise for, I'm going out tonight and need to get ready, I don't have the money to spend on DVDs at the moment. However, I found this in Woolworths for £8 a few days back, and having no other plans to keep me occupied I decided to buy it and finally see what all the fuss was about.
The story follows Tristan (the result of a one night stand his father had with a inprisoned princess he met across the wall), who, in attempt to capture the heart of the girl he thinks he's in love with, promises to cross the wall to find a fallen star and bring it back to her before her birthday (time ... I like this sort of adventure film. There are far too few made, if you ask me. I guess most film makers think they will inevitably be compared to Indiana Jones, which is a shame.
So how does this compare to Indiana Jones? Not as good, a bit far-fetched, though I cant say why without giving bits of the plot away, but nonetheless a very entertaining romp.
Its the kind of film that eats your time away. There aren't any real dull moments, and its a shame when it has to finish.
I won't give it five stars, because it could be better, but it definately deserves 4.

The credits are still rolling but I had to get this review in!
After watching the painful BBC version this is brilliant by comparison. Please don't buy the BBC one, get this instead. I can't fault it! It is just like the image of narnia in my head. Very believeable, great characters, great battle scenes. I cringed all the way through the BBC version but this was a delight to watch.

This is a terrible film, it was very short and and quite irritating as it was very hard to watch,, when the alien bit came on if it was alien that was interesting but you dont see much of that, there was too much camera going on and it was more like a documentary, not my cup of tea, ive see n better and it was a waste of time, there was no thrill inthe movie and the actors were ridiculous!... dont watch it!

Why do they get it wrong so often: Bought it, because it promised German soundtrack, the print on the DVD itself (Temple of Doom) show all the age limits: English, Irish, German, Spanish and a RED ONE (Italian ?), returned it - of course

This movie is worth buying for the amazing special effects and for the stunning scenes of post-apocalyptic New York. Will Smith puts in a solid performance as (almost) sole survivor of the 'zombie' plague, ably supported by his canine co-star. The first hour or so of the movie is fast-paced and dramatic as the story unfolds. Unfortunately, it then moves down a gear or so, loses its way, and almost peters out with a most unsatisfactory and unresolved ending. A missed opportunity, as a little further development of the story would have made such a difference.

When you look at the intelligence and the quality of the first Season and the pace and the depth of the second, what was missing was the dark and gritty side and Season 3 has that in all 13 episodes. It is more dark, we see the violent side of Michael Scofield and the emotional side instead of his clam persona. The setting is scary, brutal and an image of hell. Sona is without a doubt, the scariest prison you will ever come across. The inmates run the yard, people die and nobody comes out alive. The writers were really clever with Sona, it is the setting that we get to see Michael's different side. The side where he is not only brains but aggressive. I think the star of the 3rd Season is Alex Mahone's character. He has become more important as the show goes on and the newfound ... Read More:

It's always a little worrying when a writer/director decides to make a follow-up film 20 years after the last one. The "love it or hate it" Rambo series is generally fondly remembered by action movie fans and Rambo 3, though enjoyable, left you thinking there really is nowhere left for this storyline to go. So does the world really need yet another Rambo film? Well after watching this film, the answer is an emphatic yes!
So what's John Rambo been up to since he single-handedly took on the Soviet Union in Rambo 3? Well now he's decided to re-locate as far away from America as possible. Whereas most people would want to live out their retirement somewhere nice and quiet, not Rambo. He decides Burma, one of the most dangerous and war-torn countries in the world, is the ideal ... I'm glad that I only wasted 30 minutes of my life on this film.
It made no sense.
I have no idea what was going on.
My wife had no idea what was going on.
She loves the other Pirates movies and asked me to switch this one off. Which we did.
It's hard to believe that someone thought this was good enough to release.
Please don't reward these people by renting or buying this rubbish, it will only encourage them to make more.

Great special effects, but not a very good story, looks like it was trying to prop up the poor storyline with the special effets and the actors.
In all a disappointing movie.
