An excellent fantasy. Shooting stars exploding into glowing women, a camp captain steering a lightning trawler, a gaggle of ghosts providing humorous running commentary from the sideline, and at the centre of it all a very important stone that will make the holder king. This movie is an absolute treat and will not disappoint any fans of fantasies.

This definitely improves on Bender's Big Score; the gags are more consistent, and Hermes plays a smaller part! There were several moments where I laughed like I did at the old episodes. But like the previous feature-length, it still isn't up to the 'pre-cancellation' standards. It does also drag on in the final 20 minutes as if the writers got bored.
Since like I said, this one is better, it's a comforting thought that this will likely be the case with the next two DVDs. Because it's still Futurama I will wait with baited breath. But ultimately, I think Matt Groening should just make Season 5!

I, too, watched this on a rented dvd because of the hype and despite my brother telling me it was rubbish and my daughter suggesting it was an excellent 'b' movie.
For me, it didn't work. I know Americans are said to be different from us Brits in the main; this film suggets they just might be.
The camera (or camcorder in this case) was meant to be the USP of the film but it was, frankly, annoying. If he'd turned off the sound, it might have helped but, instead, we had to listen to a scriptwriter's dream - no meaningful script.
And who cared whether these imbeciles were killed off? Planting the alien in Manhattan was definitely a good idea. Pity we didn't see much of it. What we did see looked good which, given the expense ... Read More:

I just watched Torchwood 2, and I am not sure what to make of it. It is fairly watchable, but it does not compare really favorably with the first season, looking like a watered down version of it. Dialogues are very stilted, there is little real tension in the situations and among the characters. First season Owen Harper was more cynical and less noble than in the second, and therefore a lot better developed, and also Jack Harkness was more jaded and weary, being therefore a more interestinc character. The series could have benefited from less action and more incisiveness in the situations the team encountered - as it is, like other reviewers pointed out, the programme seems to be aimed to kids. I found myself fastforwarding a lot...
Far from being a fault, however, ... Read More:

I liked most of the film, loved the zombies/infected people and thought it was going well with quite a bit of action but then it came to the end and (I won't ruin it) it was quite dissaponting, I felt as if it was just quickly put together as they couldn't decide what to do.
Also it was wayyyy too short, by the time I got really into it and knew exactly what was happening it was practically over.
Dont get me wrong its a good film, but the end was a bit of a let down and it was short.

While I was out on business in Australia, we were invited to enjoy a unique experience at a local, fancy cinema. It was the perfect setup: they bring you your pre-selected meals during the film at your specified times; they bring you cocktails and other drinks if you wish, right on schedule; they have silver bowls of popcorn that are about eight times bigger than your head; they have ice-cream desserts smothered in chocolate; and to top it off, they have reclining leather lazy-boy type chairs.
And yet, in spite of all this, we watched this God-forsaken film, and it was still dreadful.
It was, however, remotely bearable due to the third Long Island Iced Tea, which is why I'm saying: if you're going to watch this film, the only way to do it is through the bottom ... Read More:

Sadly because of the Writers Strike hitting and the producers of the show not being smart enough to just put season 2 on hold and continue as originaly planned, Heroes season 2 isn't as good as the first. But knowing that only the last 5 minutes of episode 11 were changed.
Originally the virus was supposed to break out at the end of episode 11. Had this happened I don't doubt season 2 would have been better than the first, but season 2 is still a good watch, though no where near what it could have been.

i have found series three of Doctor who to be very refreshing...although there are a few duds this year it doesn't harm the show but makes the better episodes shine.
Martha Jones exceeded my expectations,as i thought that she was going to be another Rose Tyler she turned out to be a great companion and very three dimensional although lacking Roses charismatic persona she brings something new to the table, and her character is explored with depth.
eppy reviews-
the runaway bride-4/5-a very good christmas special...Catherine Tate was a breath of fresh air and was extremely entertaining tpo watch(glad she was the main companion in series 4)the Racnoss is a great creation and reminds me of the alien queen from the Alien franchise.

Heroes is brilliant. Mythology and good comics have always been used larger than life characters to juxtapose courage and talent against doubt, vulnerability and personal struggle. Heroes nearly always alwats gets this balance right. The characters, like the beautiful cheerleader whose talent exposes her to predators, are perfectly pitched to develop these themes. Like real life and its inspiring moments, its a bit cheesy now and then. Nonetheless its heroic message of hope admid a sea of darkness is strongly conveyed. This is great popular art.
