I enjoyed Evangelion alot, and in general found the last episodes quite confusing so this helped me get the idea better.
This is how it should have been done originally.

I loved `Audition' by Miike and so I had to see `Ichi.'. While the style is definitely Miike's, I found that I didn't like it quite as much as `Audition.' It is hard to care much about many of the people being tortured because there is no character development in most of them with the exception of Ichi and Kakihara. Kakihara likes to be tortured, but only by those who are the best at inflicting pain. Therefore he is very studied in the art of giving pain and practices this with relish. There is a poor slob in the movie who is tied to a chair and has grossly enlarged needles thrown at his exposed face and who knows what else is done to him before they get the idea to cut his unmentionables into several ribbons with a pair of scissors. While there ... Read More:

I agree that this is no jolly ghibli like experience but then who says that all anime must be. This is a truly deep and dark delve into the human mind in a way that is relevant and very brave. The artistry and overal structure of the film is sublime and as a live action would have won acclaim, yet animate it and people get very uncomfortable. The disturbing moments that do dipict rape are very much fundimental to the reasoning of character development and are not i believe the whim of a director trying to shock. If you can stick with this film and open your mind to see the truth of this film you will be greatly rewarded by what I consider to be the bravest anime out there. You will have to watch a few times to grasp the whole picture of the storyline but ... Read More:

I Think the best way to sum up this series is never judge a book by its cover.
From the outset the box looks very colourful very fun, Originally I thought this was just this was Kenji Nakazawa's story after the bomb had dropped but it gives you an insight to what his life was like before and after the A-Bomb Was Dropped on Hiroshima Back in 1945.
The Film its self is based on the true story of his life and he says in the leaflet that is inside the box 70% of what happened is true, It is in its self a history lesson which transports you from the modern times back to the chaos of when the bomb hit and gives you a insight of what it was actually like to live back in that time and all the hardships of coping with radiation poising and starvation due ... I first came across Invader Zim, as a lot of people do with this kind of show which is predominantly unheard of, by accident.
Having read that it contains all the episodes for a bargain price I jumped at the chance. As with anything some episodes are much better than others but this pack itself is definitely worth it as everyone will find a good handful of favourites to keep watching.
Basically, Zim is an alien and his race is governed by 'the tallest' (yes - the taller you are the more important you are). His race is bent on universal domination and assign their best fighters to enemy planets. Here they are to find out about the local habitants weaknesses so they can take over their planet. Zim turns up whilst these fighters are being ... Read More:

Tenchi Muyo was first broadcasted in the UK in the late 90's on Cartoon Network, which was one of the few anime series broadcasted on TV at the time. Over the years they showed the spin off series; Tenchi Universe and Tenchi in Toyko and without a trace the legacy known as Tenchi faded away.
However in 2005 MVM released Tenchi Muyo in 3 separate volumes, and then in one hugely awaited mega box set.
So what exactly is so special about this series that has formed several manga series, at least 5 spin off series and countless fanbases?
Tenchi Muyo is centred around a teenage boy named Tenchi Masaki who, at the start of the series is spending his summer with his grandfather, awakens a demon from it's cell when his curiosity gets the better of ... Read More:

After the immense success funimation has had with releasing the remastered Dragon Ball Z series, the same treatment for the movies was inevitable.
This 2 disc collection contains the first two movies: 'Dead Zone' and 'The world's strongest'. It comes in a nice steelbook packaging, like the previous Trunks and Bardock double feature.
I happen to own an older DVD release of these first two movies, (In the first srike box set) and I must say there is an incredible difference in quality. The movies in this set look absoluteley beautiful as the picture has been cleaned up immensly. When I saw these films prior to being remastered, I didn't enjoy them as much. This is because I'd watched seasons 1 to 4 of the remastered DBZ series and the difference in quality ... Read More:

When a bomb goes off and causes dimensions to bleed into each other, a future warring Earth finds that people and objects are left in the wrong dimension - objects which include `Decimators' (giant flying robots).
This 6 part series gives us well developed characters which sometimes seem a bit formulaic, but they thankfully tend to break free from many of the clichés we see in anime. The concept of the cities at war, and trying to gain control of the other-worldly massive robots to gain an advantage resonates well with the modern `real world'. The series seems touching at times, I don't want to provide a synopsis to give things away so I'll summarise...
In a nutshell: A good self contained mini-series (no need to invest in several more DVDs ... Read More:
