This second volume of Fullmetal Alchemist hits its stride and becomes an excellent show. In episode five the brothers are caught up in a terrorist attack on a train transporting a high ranking general and they use all their powers to defeat the terrorists and gain the thanks of the general. Episode six sees the brothers placed with an odd military alchemist to study for the exam that would see them become State Alchemists and Edward discovers he has skills that make him unique among alchemists. Episode seven takes a far darker tone than any of its predecessors when the alchemist the brothers are staying with takes extreme measures to maintain his founding and this episode shows what the series can do and doesn't pull its punches as much as ... This is a decent boxset if you are after the Slayers series (the movies and OVAs anyway) as it contains every DVD which has been released in the UK. The boxart is pretty, with some nice artwork inside as well as out, and nicely convenient.
Rather than providing us with a cumbersome five full sized DVD cases inside of an artbox, or attached to some flimsy folding card, ADV have tailored a nice, compact clear plastic DVD case with a spine about 1.5 times the width of a single DVD box, able to hold all five discs in a folder-like 2 discs per 'page' fashion. The discs can be a bit awkward to remove from the case because of the way they're held in, but otherwise it's a great, compact and convenient box which isn't going to take up much ... Read More:

I remember seeing this classic Manga way back, and it was one of the funniest manga cartoons ever, thanks to the hillarious dubbing, and so without hesitating, I brought this DVD hoping to relive memory times, but was actually disappointed when I heard that all voices had been re-dubbed. Why do they do this? First it was martial arts movies that have been re-dubbed and now its the anime.
The anime itself is pure classic, basically it involves this schoolgirl Mayumi Takahashi that keeps getting tormented by her pervious headmaster and tutor, until a masked avenger known as "Kekko Kamen" shows up and saves the day. This Kekko Kamen is one of a kind (as far as avengers go) as she not only kicks butt, she uses her bare body as a weapon ... Read More:

Before watching this show i had lost all interest in anime. the last anime i watched was Dragonball Z when i was around 9 years old. but after the follow up show GT and the fact that british tv is not good for anime, i lost interest for many years.
However my freind said to watch this show, Fullmetal Alchemist and give it shot, and lent me a copy of this dvd. The show had me hooked by the end of the first episode. it was smart, funny yet serious, and truely blew me away, given the fact that i hadn't heard of it. the dvd is what got me into possibly the greatest anime for a extremely long time, if not, in history. the dvd is the beginning of the series, and while it's not too exciting as later on will be, it gets the series going really ... im not a huge fan on anime, however, this film is brilliant! studio IG excel themselves everytime time they put somthing out there, and maybe this film is a bit off the wall and twisted but credit is due to them to even contemplate releasing a film like this that people are always gonna either love or hate, but this film is really wourth your time. and it is (even if not troditionally) beautiful, in its own way. in the end of the day though, its up to you if you like it or not, but be open minded. oh and anyone who thinks this is hard to follow... well... i dont think i should say!
