This is a brilliant film suitable for kids familys and adults.
I read the book first then saw the film. I am currently reading the book 'small steps' which is a brilliant conclusion.
Louis Sachar is one of America's best writers I hope to read all of her novels.

The picture quality and sound is vastly improved over the standard definition version and at these plummeting prices, it's definitely worth owning. I've watched it several times now as I was blown away by the Hi Def picture.
Fingers crossed that Warner Brothers will back track and release all the future Harry Potter movies on HD DVD.

My 4-year-old now has an imaginary Ivor that goes everywhere with her (even to school). She's started calling me 'Jones' and Idris is always getting into trouble around the house!
This has caught my daughter's imagination like none of the modern children's programmes and it's lovely to share a part of my own childhood with my daughter.

'The Empire Strikes Back', the second of the "old" Star Wars releases, is likely to be the darker of the collection, yet at the same time, the most accomplished in terms events. Their are many well shot scenes that are so cleverly edited, and the early fight scene on the snow planet between the rebels and the empire is superbly shot.
It's only my opinion though, but I've always felt the ending shot of this film is incredibly weak. Not longer after Darth Vader has confessed his relationship with Luke, we're still in alot of tension and the atmosphere is quite mellow, yet in a matter of minutes, all this is turned around so we can have a shot of Luke, Leia, and the droids gazing out of their cruisers window with a big smile on their face, ... This is one of those dvds you can get out any time of year over and over again and it still appeals. Who would have thought combining a witch, a doctor and WWII would create such wonder.
The characters created by Angela Lansbury (Miss Price the good witch) and David Thomlinson (Dr Amelius Brown)are wonderful and the combination of settings, singing, dancing and animation are very well balanced. Our whole family love this film.

I've never read Hogfather, but I loved the film. The Colour of Magic had better CGI effects, and I'm a big fan of the character who was away in Fourecks during this dark time of the year- fighting fot his life, apparently. I hadn't read the Last Continent then so I thought he was Sideney at first, then one of the wizards surrounding Ridcully.
I liked David Jason in both roles, as with Nigel Planer. Ed Coleman made a good Ponder. Enough said. Anyone who wishes to go further into the subject...?

I bought this for my daughter, who adores Peppa Pig!! Its brilliant and real value for money. It has 32 episodes in all, and keeps little ones entertained. Although I did get mine cheaper from a well known record store on the high street!!!!
