This is close to a perfect film. Sergio Leone at his best, Henry Fonda as a bad guy, Charles Bronson as the "goodie" AND with an Ennio Morricone score. What more could you ask for?
Cinematically stunning with some incredible sequences that Leone was not afraid to linger over, a strong plot and a great script.
A truly fantastic film.

This used to be my favourite. I went to see it at a cinema in the 70s, when it was distinctly arthouse. Times change, though. Now the racism grates too much. When it was made I'm sure it was meant to be radical. Rick saying he does not sell human beings when offered a price for Sam might have been cutting edge in '42. Not now.
It does not matter how captivating Ms Bergman is, I cannot see past her using that American racist insult, 'boy'.
Sam, of course, does not even have two dimensions to his character.

Whatever you think of the story, the fact that one man is seen as so important that a relatively dangerous rescue mission is undertaken , involving ultimate sacrifice, the giving of ones life, to achieve the result. Surely this ist he greatest story ever told, that of Aslan in Narnia too, and Jesus Christ dying on a cross that an individual, namely YOU, can be brought home to safety. Tom Hanks' character, Saptain Miller does this ultimately in the film, and others do so along the way.
But there is more! The concept of grace is also dealt with in the film. Amidst all the anonymous killing, there comes out of the German ranks a gunner who Millers small band decide to release, rather than kill him on the spot. They are too small a force to take prisoners, ... Read More:

Well I Absolutley HATED high school musical the entire film just irritates me. But i have to admit , the signing in this movie was actually really good and the songs were pretty catchy. The storyline wasnt particually original but it was still worth watching. I'd recommend renting this movie or watchig it on disney channel before you buy it though.

This film appeals on so many levels - it's a farce, a sophisticated comedy, a gangster movie, a musical - some classic lines and probably a good contender for the best last line ever. Please watch this, it's that good.

A couple of the negative reviews on this page are actually referring to a very poor earlier DVD; yet Amazon (in their wisdom) have posted them on this page! Finding the best DVD (or the best copy for the money) is tricky enough without mixing the reviews up. It looks like they've posted the wrong product details as well. For the record, I'm talking about the NTSC R1 two-disc with a gold band at the top. The picture is a great improvement on earlier editions (at least one of which had sync problems, too). There's a lot more detail visible and with a film shot in gorgeous, deep-focus B&W that makes a big difference!

This was one of my favourite disney films when I was little and when I saw it on DVD fully restored with pristine picture quality I had to buy it. This may not be on the same terms as Lion King, Bambi, Little Mermaid and other disney classics we all know, in terms of popularity but this film has its own charm to it and is just as good as the others, with its sense of imagination, humour and positive messaging. This is a great film in its own right and for any disney fan or someone looking for a good family film it should be in your DVD collection.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang [1968] 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' is my second favourite after 'The Wizard Of Oz'.'Chitty' stars Dick Van Dyke,Sally Ann Howes,Lionel Jeffries,James Robertson Justice and Robert Helpmann.Though this release onto DVD is the Full Screen version of this film i personally prefere it due to the fact this is a wonderful transfere to Disc, with it's lovely deep colours and so beautifully restored it looks like a modern film.Dick Van Dyke is superb as the children's father and transforms a run down car which turns out to be able to float and fly. They name the car 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'.Everything is so lovely about this film from the title song 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' (We Love You),You Two,Hush-A-By Mountain and not forgetting Lionel Jeffries song ... "In the days after it first opened in early 1964, Stanley Kubrick's "Dr. Strangelove" took on the enchanted aura of a film that had gotten away with something. Johnson was in the White House, the Republicans were grooming Goldwater, both sides took the Cold War with grim solemnity, and the world was learning to be comfortable with the term "nuclear deterrent," which meant that if you blow me up, I'm gonna blow you up, and then we'll all be dead. "Better dead than Red," some said. Others said the opposite. The choice was not appealing. The Bomb overshadowed global politics. It was a kind of ultimate hole card in a game where the stakes were life on earth." Roger Ebert
I purchased the 40th Anniversary CD and this is my third or forth viewing, but "Dr. Strangelove" ... Read More:

The Brain of Morbius is a good all round Doctor Who, even though it takes place in the studio. It is well paced, and keeps you on your toes most of the time.
In this era of Who this is one of the best ones made mainly because it makes you think as you go along "What's going to happen next?"
So for these things i would recommend you watch it all the way through if you have a couple of hours to spare.
