Before you watch this movie (and then dismiss it, as others have done, as incomprehensible and bizarre) you MUST either read or listen to the book or audio book.
Having done both, I can happily report that Terry Gilliam has done a first class job (with Hunter S Thompson's blessing) of creating this overlooked masterpiece. The lead roles of Duke (Johnny Depp) and Dr. Gonzo (Benicio del Toro) are expertly and accurately portrayed, much as I imagined they would be when reading the book.
Furthermore, the support characters and Vegas ambience adds to the mix.
In short, read the book, then watch the movie ...... and don't stop in bat country.

After being slightly let down by "Hot Fuzz", I had high hopes for "Run Fat Boy Run" as I saw a couple of trailers about a month before it came out and thought it looked pretty good. Whilst I never got to see it at the cinema, my sister just brought this DVD for my birthday recently.
Directed by David Schwimmer (Friends' Ross Geller) and with a fantastic cast including Dylan Moran (Black Books), Thandie Newton (The Pursuit of Happiness) and Hank Azaria (Friends' David "from Minsk", the scientist boyfriend of Pheobe Buffay), the story of "Run Fat Boy Run" centres around Simon Pegg's character Dennis Doyle, a shop security guard who, since getting cold feet on his wedding day and jilting his pregnant fiancee Libby (Newton) at the altar ... I have seen the episodes coming up on this DVD and beyond on US TV and they are funny as ever, 1 that stood out for me was when The Griffins open a restaurant and Peter gets Joe and his mates to make it their regular, thinking it will be full of cops its actually Joe's disabled friends, there is one scene where Joe and his friends all join together in their wheel chairs to make a huge transformer, classic.
Another episode sees peter as a pirate, Peter having a stroke from eating too many burgers, Joe walks again and befriends 'sporty' people, an episode sees when Quagmire marries louis, the kids as a result are hilarious, Brian finding out he has a son and the return of the Chicken.
Although these were at the end of the US ... Read More:

This film is a true romantic comedy classic! All the characters are loveable-especially the two lead roles played by Bullock and Pullman who are both funny and believable. However the film is also successful as a result of many of the smaller comic characters from the Callaghan family and Lucy's friends (especially the cringe-worthy Joe Jr and the loveable Saul) The film is set at christmas which adds a certain magic to the story but is a great watch all year round. Full of fun and romance with a beautiful soundtrack-it is perfect night in movie for all and sure to cause a few tears!!!
Watch and fall in love...

The eleventh and final season of 'Frasier' (tying in longevity with parent sitcom 'Cheers') marks the show's true return to form, set in motion by the average season 10. This can be attributed to the return of writers Joe Keenan and Christopher Lloyd who, individually and together, produced some of the all-time classic episodes in season's 1-7. Both writers bring a real creative force to this final season, and quickly set about dealing with some of the show's most recent problems. The grating Julia Wilcox (Felicity Huffman) is dispatched with early in the season, and the tensions between Frasier and Martin (a core theme of the early seasons) are renewed when father and son battle for the attention of Ronee Lawrence, Frasier's former babysitter. This feature length Futurama adventure is well plotted and intelligent just as the series was but it is definitely not as laugh out loud funny. This may be simply because, as a long time fan of Futurama, its humour has become predictable for me, I don't know. I don't think it is over complicated, but a very clever plot and premise which can be enjoyed many times over.
This will definitely not ruin your memories of the series as it is quite different and equally good as many of the episodes. However, if you are looking to enjoy this in the same way you have with the series then I would advise watching it in more than one sitting, this way your attention will not be lost as a result of its length.
The special features are definitely ... Read More:

Whereas Monty Python veered between inspired, lunatic genius and utter folly, this falls into the latter camp and doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath. Overrated crap, and as comparable in wit to the Python's probable low point, "The Meaning Of Life". Execrable.

Not more than 10 minutes ago my wife and i finished watching series 1 and we thought it was brilliant. We normally watch 24 or lost on dvd but thought we'd give this ago and i'm so glad we did. Not a dull episode. Not one.
Am just about to order series 2. I hope it's as good.
