MORSE was, in my opinion, quite simply the best British drama series ever. All 33 episodes for under a hundred quid ... no debate. This is a must buy series. Unquestionable quality from start to finish.
I watched Blood Simple for the first time a few weeks ago and really enjoyed watching Francis McDermott. She was fantastic in Fargo. Fargo was a great movie with all the right moves, excellent tone, bizarre characters, and a flatly affected but very strong pregnant cop played by McDermott. The Coen brothers are known for their slightly off-kilter films. Raising Arizona with Nicholas Cage and Holly Hunter was a very successful and entertaining quirky movie. Strange characters and bizarre situations can be very entertaining. The formula just doesn't work in Miller's Crossing.
Gabriel Byrne stars as a dirtball gangster. He's the slimey no. 2 to Albert Finney in Finney's massive gangster world. Finney is ... Read More:

Halloween is coming in Midsomer, and Barnaby has got to organise a party, pushed by Joyce. Anyhow, paranormal background round the county is far from being a dreary one. Ernest Balliol, who runs a web shop purveying strange artefacts, is angry at his past mate and friend Aloysius Wilmington, who has written a text claiming the order of thot, a sect, was established during his drunken stupor. Ernest has got two children, Tristan, a reliable and good lawyer, who is always in disfavour of his father's silly interest in this order, and Isolde, an assumed witch, who has seduced Wilmington's nephew to get a precious text.
Anyhow, during a show hosted by Aloysius, his assistant, Jean Wildacre, drops dead in the "Chamber of death" a cupboard used for the show. ... Read More:

Yet another fantastic installment of the best show on TV.
The normal character's, Gil Grissom, Catherine Willows, Sarah Sidle, Warwick Brown, Nick Stokes, Greg Sanders, Jim Brass and Dr Robbins are back and in about episode seven (I think) we see a someone from the day shift become more involved with the closely-knit night team. She is not made very welcome by the team but she still remains part of the team (as we can see from season six, currently showing on TV).
This set of episodes gives us brilliant science and also further insight into the CSI's. Catherine is having trouble with her daughter Lyndsey and Greg is tested in his ambitions to get away from the DNA Lab and into the field - things don't always run smoothly.

If the director, Mr. Yapo, has a thing for Miss Bullock, then this film certainly makes it pretty obvious. I, too, like her a lot which is why, despite the poor reviews, I wanted to watch it. She didn't disappoint but the film itself was a terror!
The move between reality and her 'premonitions' was just too confusing for me. I became annoyed when what I thought was current, turned out to be another day in her dream.
And frankly, at the end, if a car saleman ever drove a car like her husband did, then no wonder she thought he was going to die.
All-in-all, a load of old rubbish - except for Sandra, of course.

Erica Bain (Jodie Foster) is a popular radio DJ but her life changes when she and her fiance David are attacked by a gang one night, Erica is in a coma for 3 weeks but David dies.
After the attack, Erica shuts down and becomes depressed and when she realises that the police are getting nowhere with the investigation, she buys a gun for protection fearing that the attackers will find her and kill her. While in a shop that night, a man comes in and guns down the cashier and Erica shoots him in self defense. After this, Erica discovers the stranger in herself and becomes a vigilante, hunting down criminals that have either escaped justice or people who threaten Erica, including 2 people on a subway train and a perverted man.

Having owned the original Dirty Harry DVD collection which was released back in 2002,I was looking forward to this all new release and I was not dissapointed all of the original films have been given another re-master,not just the picture but also the sound has been given the dolby 5.1 remaster as well and if you have a surround sound system then eastwoods 44 magnum sounds just like the real thing!!.
As well as the original extras there is a host of new extras and commentarys plus the addition of a small hardback book, production notes,Callaghans police ID badge! and also a poster and limited edition art cards complete the extras, sadly though no .44 Magnum included!!!.
All in all Warner have done a excellent job of both the boxset, extras and also the re ... Read More:

Curtis Hanson has managed to direct a film which captures the late 1940's in both style and spirit. Often films depicting the glamourous side of this era immerse themselves too much in the styles and fashions of the time, rendering the actual characters superfluous to the movie. Not here though - the characters drive the film, blending in perfectly with the directing style swaying effortlessly to capture the gritty and the classic-Hollywoodesque, the guy has done his homework.
Risks were taken by casting relatively unknown non-Americans in the two major roles, a rare thing by a Hollywood studio. It's hard to imagine anyone else but Russell Crowe as the fiery `Bud' and at times Guy Pierce seems a bit awkward as `Exley' - but this isn't a flaw in his acting, this is him ... Read More:

There was one problem with this film...Christian Bale is A MACHINE! I was so consumed by the torture he must have gone through to lose the weight for this film, I wasn't concentrating on the plot at all. I remember I enjoyed it though, but I know that's not very helpful for a review (!).
