These episodes are what some would call early TV Poirot, as after these the show takes on a darker feel. However Poirot is a joy to watch from beginning to end in my opinion. I hope ... Read More:
This film did exactly as it should have done with allowing us to see the lifes and relationship of TVs best SC-FI couple 6 years down the road from after the series ended.
Mulder and Scully are back! The story of the film some say wasn't the type of things you would see in the series. Well think again because certain episodes did deal with psychics and neutral paranormal acts such as the episode 'hell money'.
This is a brilliant film which really should satisfy any X-Files fan as well as people who want to see more then a little gore and violence. The film also makes full sense without having to see the whole series!

Yet another fantastic installment of the best show on TV.
The normal character's, Gil Grissom, Catherine Willows, Sarah Sidle, Warwick Brown, Nick Stokes, Greg Sanders, Jim Brass and Dr Robbins are back and in about episode seven (I think) we see a someone from the day shift become more involved with the closely-knit night team. She is not made very welcome by the team but she still remains part of the team (as we can see from season six, currently showing on TV).
This set of episodes gives us brilliant science and also further insight into the CSI's. Catherine is having trouble with her daughter Lyndsey and Greg is tested in his ambitions to get away from the DNA Lab and into the field - things don't always run smoothly.

I have just finished watching this set. I had seen some early episodes originally but watched all again. It is almost a bit "Lost on Mars" as the early series now do seem dated or rather perfectly portraying that time - the early 1990s. I found myself watching the clothes of DCI Tennison and of course the ageing of her in her character with all the trials and tribulations faced by a woman in the police force and in her personal life. She is a demanding , admirable yet imperfect character and it is heart wrenching to see the last episode when retirement beckons. Absolutely fantastic performance by Helen Mirren and of course the rest who make their characters just so believable!

Bruce Willis is always in danger of being a parody of himself, most often typecast as the maverick save-the-world cop a-la-Die Hard, but in fact he has tried to explore other character portrayals in recent years. Yes, he's a cop again in this one, but he never looked as if he was about to do any yippee-kai-yays at any time. Thanks mainly to a solid writing base from a Robert Crais novel of the same name, Hostage is a pretty good thriller and not as formulaic as many might expect. The odd thing though is that there were a few signature images that reminded me of other seemingly unrelated films, notably The Crow - one of the hostage takers, a psycho named Mars and played by Ben Foster, looked bizarrely like Brandon Lee's portrayal of Eric Draven a decade earlier. ... Absolutely WONDERFUL entertainment. Worth the expense to own all these great tv MIDSOMERS MURDER movies. Can watch over and over.
Wish continued success and many more fine DCI BARNABY cases solved.

Hitchcock always used to say that he saw no point in adapting an excellent book for one of his films because if a novel was so good, what could he do to improve upon it?
As a result, in the 80 years since it's release there must have been a lot of disappointed people who have bought John Buchan's book on the strength of this film. For all intents and puposes, Hitchcock's version has become the one that all the others are judged on.
Robert Donat is superb as Richard Hannay, a man who ends up on the run when a spy, whom he had only met that evening, ends up dead in his flat. Hannay ends up fleeing to Scotland, determined to pass on the message about the 39 steps.
Along the way he picks up Pamela, another superb turn from ... Read More:

This film was BORING ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ there was hardly any action , no good bits , no scary bits and most of all no point. The whole film is based upon 'talking'. I really thought this was going to be a lot of action as it based on a stupid looking car. Waste of money and time , not even worth a rent

Stunning movie - easily the best American urban/police thriller I've seen to date!
VERY stylish and often brutal, this hooks from start to finish.
It's not action packed, rather delivering thrills in short, sharp bursts. It's very atmospheric with an incredible central performance from Denzel Washington as antihero/villain, Detective Alonzo Harris, and strong support from Ethan Hawke as rookie officer, Jake Hoyt.
Look out for small roles from the likes of Snoop Dogg & Dr Dre, in this unflinching portrayal of the very mean streets of LA. Also, Scott Glen, Cliff Curtis & Tom Berenger. It's a real tough guys movie BUT not in the cliched action roles that we saw back in the '80s.
The direction from Antoine Fuqua is extremeley tight, and the photography/editing ... Read More:
