Whilst the Writers' Strike left this season feeling a little empty, the quality of the show continues to shine through. The conclusion to the Sara Saga is excellently pulled off and will certainly bring a tear to the eye of the most faithful CSI fan. Some of the episodes are a bit poor - such as the story of the young lad who develops breasts - but these are balanced out by the other episodes.
Shame there's not as many episodes as there normally are but worth the purchase all the same.

Love Wire in the Blood. Think it's really intelligent, makes you pay attention. Tony Hill is an amazing character.
I'm just wondering why the Texas episode Prayer of the Bone was not included in the DVD, copyright? And could you get it somehow, or would you have to have an American DVD-player?

My other review has been deemed not useful, so I thought i'd try and explain more. Fact is, IT IS same old 24, but for Jack Bauer, in a different environment. It's good to see Jack in another continent, infact good to see him out of L.A. There's part cabinet meetings, part gun-fights, and parts plain old Jack Bauer bada.ss. Fight scenes = very intense, as usual there are way in which Jack kills his enemies, that make us envious of just how cool this guy is. The overall atmosphere is different, it's more like a different style of 24, and since there's no CTU, no Chloe, Buchanan etc, it's bound to give breaths of fresh air to avid viewers.
Acting wise, as we all know, Kiefer does great as Jack Bauer, it's especially interesting to see how ... Read More:

Although i agree with of the 5 star reviews (gripping story, superbly acted, nice pace,...) i'll stick with a 4 out of 5 for one main reason: at certain points in the series it annoyed that i could see through the concept and feel that it was it built according to a "formula". This could be in little details like choice of shots of the director, the presentation of plot changes,...
Just like blockbuster formats, Damages sometimes feels just a little too much like it was created with just too much marketing in mind.
It is because of this that i have to rate it below shows that could overcome this issue and just feel just more 'real', like -for me- The Sopranos, Shield,...

CSI New York is brilliant. After the season three finale (snow day) I was expecting great things from season four. It didn't dissapoint at all it was fantastic. I've watched it on TV and will eventually be getting season four parts 1 and 2 box sets. The episodes that stood out to me from season four were Down the Rabbit hole, Boo, DOA for a day, Taxi, and Hostage however I enjoyed all the episodes. There was a wonderful mix of storylines and mystery. Although there has been the writers strike it hasn't affeted CSI:NY too much, it has only been cut short by about 2 or 3 episodes. Higly recommended, all I can say is roll on season 5.

I noted the 28 5 star reviews for this film and so looked forward to its arrival from Amazon...what a complete load of rubbish - music drove me nuts and I spent 2 hours waiting for something to happen which might bring the whole thing together - give the film some meaning...nope...it never happened!
I just did not get this film and frankly wonder if those that have given it a rave review were watching something else?
Dont bother with this is my advice but if you still want to see it, I have a very cheap one for sale!!

There's no doubt that 'Lock, Stock, and two Smoking Barrels' was a magnificent example of a new film maker at his creative best. With Snatch though it feels like Guy Ritchie found his comfort zone and set up permanent camp there.
The film contains some very clever dialogue, and many of the characters display a deep philosophical intelligence you don't expect from a thug - this brings humour and style, but it also seems as though the film tries a bit too hard to be 'Lock, Stock...'.
Jack-the-Lads, guns, snappy dressers, and uber-cool lines initially grace the screen nicely, but it eventually comes clear that these are being shoe-horned in to build a trendy flick. But when you can see through it - it just doesn't work.

It's hard to say whether George Clooney is making this sort of movie nowadays to cast himself against type or, given that he seems to be doing quite a few like this, that he is re-inventing himself away from the pretty boy nice guy image that has served him well so far.
Michael Clayton is a downbeat tale of corporate America and the dodgy wheelings and dealings that go on behind the scenes. The focus is on a troubleshooter (Uncle George) who works for a law firm retained by a very rich farming company that has been up to no good and subsequently stand to loose billions if found guilty. Their chief lawyer appears to have gone off his rocker though and so Michael Clayton is braught in to put it right.
In actual fact however, the lawyer in question has established ... Read More:

This is the seventh box set taking the excellent 'Sopranos' to it's inconclusive conclusion. The final nine episodes included here are of the same high standard as those before it and continues the build up of tension started in Season six part 1. Anybody who has watched the show and has got to this late stage in the saga will not be needing a review to decide on a purchase, you're going to buy it anyway!!. To those people it is an excellent buy. i'm just a little disappointed that the cost has remained substantially higher than all the series before it. You've got to buy it to complete the set and they know that! For this point alone i've reduced the score to four stars.

"Then in a daring chase, the FBI agents walk into two terrorist hideouts, killing hundreds of terrorists like so many levels of the computer game Medal Of Honour".
The truth is that American and British forces are trained to an extremely high level and shoulder their weapons and take aim before firing. Strangely it is far more accurate than the un-trained pull the trigger and pray and spray technique.
Quite a good action film that could not make its mind up about what it wanted to be. Still surprised it was a major release. Almost a recruiting film for the BNP / anti islam league
