All you have to do is look at the reviews to see that this is a film that divides opinion. I have to disagree with the criticism this has received. For my part, I thought it was brilliant. I found it a captivating film with loads of quality twists and turns which had you wondering where this is going to end up. I don't think any of the acting was bad - liked jack especially and de Caprio put in a good performance. I think the average person will enjoy the film. The avid film buff will pick holes in it.

This type of show does not come along often enough. Well written, superbly acted, fast paced, compelling and thought provoking. You are hooked after the first 5 minutes. It was late and my husband and I made the mistake of thinking we would only watch about 20 minutes of an episode. We were riveted to our chairs for the entire hour. I'm not even sure we blinked. To those having trouble hearing it, on the "Desktop" at the beginning, use your up, down, left or right remote keys and navigate over to the phone and hit Play. It will give you an option of stereo (2) or monaural (I think, the computer voice is hard to understand) (5). We found it easier to understand on (2) stereo. Then pick the episode you want to watch. Bottom line: This is a great show. Don't miss ... Read More:

I absolutely wanted to own the episode entitled 'taken by the flood' in which Elliot Cowan manages the feat of playing the most attractive ,charismatic and frightening villain that ever existed. How his character can fascinate and repulse at the same time is incredible!Cowan does it with a nonchalance and an aplomb that is not to be found in an average actor. The other episodes, although not as good, are very entertaining nonetheless and shot with such lavish spendour that they are a joy to watch. Added to this is the masterful performance of David Suchet who wears Poirot like a second skin.Settings, costumes, performances, everything is first class, the only very slight problem being Suchet's English accent which can sometimes be heard when he speaks French.

AMERICAN PSYCHO is not your typical serial killer movie. If you are looking for a shlasher film full of blood, gore and guts, you'll be ultimately disappointed. If you are looking for a witty, satirical thriller, with Hollywood's currently most promising actor, this one'll be right up your alley. No one could have portrayed Bret Easton Ellis' serial killer better than Bale. No one could have directed this film better than Mary Harron. Make all Fridays and Maniacs look like crap.

A wonderful performance. I loved first watching it 20 years ago. McQueen's charisma is unbeatable. They should never have bothered with the Brosnan remake.

Do me a favour, I cannot believe that this film has such high aclaim. It fails to draw you in and get in touch with any of the characters. I have already wasted 2 hours of my life watching this drivel so I dont want to waste any more time even talking about it. This should have been a straight to video film.

At my English prep school in the mid-80s the Day of the Jackal was approved viewing for the boys, despite its adult themes, because it offered up a role model of how an English gentleman should behave. Edward Fox is perfect in the lead role: impossibly dapper and handsome, emotionally cold, well organised, hates the French and travels in style. The Day of the Jackal is a beautifully shot film, full of glossy mid-70s Europe, summer, good clothes, cigarettes and hotels. It tells of a cat and mouse game between an assassin and the French security services out to get that assassin, but with little information to go on. I have found this to be one of few films that reward repeated viewing. Enjoy.

Why did I not hear about this film when it was out on cinema?
AT LAST......some original scripts. One of the cleverest films I have seen in a long time, and is mentally stimulating.
If you like "shoot em up's" avoid it. If you want a quality original film, snap Amazon's hand off at it's current price. UNDERVALUED.
What I like, is quality films lose their value quickly (suits ME) and rubbish "shoot em up's" hold their price better. If you want the latter, buy a Playstation.

I liked this film when I first saw it and now I have changed my mind with repeated watching. Like all Tarantino films, the dialogue between characters is unnatural. It feels like one person talking to themselves. The characters all talk in this faux intelligent geeky way about tiny things and there is no discernable differences between outlook or delivery of the characters words. The story doesn't hang together very well and the use of celebrity cameos is just celuloid cronyism. I fell for the hype, save your time and money and don't buy into this trash. Travolta is a fake, Jackson can't act, QT is annoying, Thurman is lovely, Keitel is cheesey and not at all hard like he makes out. There is too much wrong with this film to call it a classic. It's silly. At least Tom Cruise isn't in it, I ... Read More:
