I really wanted to like this film. I really did. But it was a task that was not possible.
How anyone could see this film as being a modern classic baffles me. They must either be between the ages of 5-10, really immature, have a terrible sense of humor, or brain dead. Judging by some of the reviews, some people are all 4.
The jokes are not witty (Spider-pig. Is that actually supposed to make people laugh? 10-15 or so writers and they come up with that?!), the characters have changed, the story is shocking, and the film is just generally a horrendous experience.
Many of the people that rate the film highly on the internet claim that others are not intelligent enough to get the jokes. What?! They must beyond stupid to say something like ... Read More:

I originally got this on rental as I had just finished watching Ally McBeal and wanted to see what Calista Flockhart got up to next. I hadn't realised that this was a drama and so was initially disappointed to see her in such a different role, but the characters were all so well written and so honest about themselves, and the change in pace for someone like Flockhart was great. My only criticism was that it was just a little too real, drama could do with taking a leaf out of Shakespeare and include some real comedy motif to prevent the mood from being too overwhelming and sadly I didn't find that the script gave enough in this area to enable me to watch it continually.

A "then-and-now" romance presented through flashbacks and readings (from the "Notebook") by an aging James Garner to a dementia patient. The love-story starts in a WW2 southern US summer and unfolds through the reading. The star-crossed young lovers are entirely convincing and very-well portrayed. With a bitter-sweet, predictable storyline, this is a curl-up-on-the-sofa, wet Sunday afternoon film with some lovely photography. Keep a tissue to hand!

I have just recently got back into exercise and I am so glad I bought this, for less than a fiver no less! Don't be put off by the instructors perfect body, smile, tan etc. She is really good, gives clear instructions and encouragment. This DVD is great for beginners who are not sure how to exercise with weights or for people who favour their cardio and are a little lazt when it comes to weights, like me. The 10 minutes sections make it impossible NOT to do something, you can fit something in at anytime, even in the morning and they are also great if you want to add bits to other work outs you do. Excellent value for money and results you can see!

We all know of the hype that surrounded this film and that was even before we even knew the name of the film, once we found out the name we became more pre-occupied with the Monster but we never really got to see the monster up close and personal. Even when the movie was released we're never really given a clear shot of the monster itself leaving more to the imagination, which I think makes it all the more special. The story tells of Rob Hawkins (Michael Stahl-David) who's about to leave New York city to start a new life in Japan, during his goodbye party he has an argument with his girlfriend, Beth (Odette Yustman) and she leaves while he has to attend the party with other things on his mind. By about this time the cameraman for the movie is Hud. (T.J. Miller) As ... Read More:

Doctor Who series 4 volume 2 contains four episodes. I know alot of people have given Catherine Tate (very unfair) stick, I think she is great as Donna Noble in Doctor Who and has an excellent on screen chemistry with David Tennant.
The first story is the two parter The Sontaran Stratagem / The Poison Sky which sees the return of the Sontarans (who appeared in the classic stories The Time Warrior, The Sontaran Experiment, The Invasion Of Time and The Two Doctors). Also making a very welcome return is Martha Jones superbly played by Freema Agyeman. This story moves at a cracking pace with UNIT playing a major part. It's just like the good old days in the Jon Pertwee era.
Next up is the much hyped Doctor's Daughter. I have to say that I didn't enjoy ... Read More:

This is a brilliantly well written, well acted and visually stunning show. As well as the horror themes, which are often quite intense, it is packed with humour and so many tributes to many other shows and movies of the genre. It's also littered with rock music trivia, some I got straight away e.g. "Fathers Simmons and Frehley" and the Blue Oyster Cult motif etc. but no doubt many others I have missed due to the fast pace of the show.
The two stars click well as brothers with more than their fair share of brotherly issues as they search for their missing father and to avenge the death of their mother. As they journey across America, funded by their skills as con-men, they meet all manner of legends, urban myths, serial killers as well as demons. It is a long way from being just ... Read More:
