This is a triumph for Burton and Depp but too bad about Mrs Lovitt. The direction is tight as a drum, and, although I am a fan of the full stage production, I didn't miss the music that was cut because it was not necessary for a film. Depp executes a role-defining characterisation and sings excellently giving the music a modern feel through his pop/rock style. Sacha Baron-Cohen was also nothing short of fabulous as was the young boy.
For the most part the acting is right on the money. The biggest exception was, unfortunately, the character of Mrs Lovitt. Mrs Lovitt is a pivotal character and her part requires an actor/singer who can act the songs using her voice, which requires some experience and technique. It isn't really a character ... Read More:

This was my first ever fitness DVD purchase & I'm impressed. The box set is good value as it gives you lots of options.
One dvd is a program that takes an hour, ideal for weekends. The 2nd DVD has 3 different 30 min workouts, ideal for during the week [before work in my case]. I alternate between the 30 min Pump & 30 min Box exercise.
The Core Stability program doesn't do anything for me. Maybe I need to give it another go.
The moves are easy to follow & you really feel that you have had a workout.
Note: You need a mat & free weights to get the best out of the workouts.
I was so impressed that I have since purchased Davina High Energy Five. hopefully it will be just as good.

A complete must see - the most compelling and thought provoking film I have seen in a long time. It really does open your eyes to the realities of todays world. Brilliant! One for the library.

Why do they get it wrong so often: Bought it, because it promised German soundtrack, the print on the DVD itself (Temple of Doom) show all the age limits: English, Irish, German, Spanish and a RED ONE (Italian ?), returned it - of course

Series five of peep show continues on from where series four left off and builds the story nicely but at the same time there is a wee drop in form here that means the show loses its consistency for perhaps the very first time.
The series starts well but falls a little with a puerile feel to it at times that beggars the belief that is a brilliantly written show, some of this feels wrong, the episode with the australian lodger being average to say the least, the laughs are still here and there but not everywhere, and that again is a new development.
The story arc here is good though and of the six episodes i would state that 4 are still gold with two maybe drowning in childish antics that arent worthy of these two great characters, still better than most of whats ... Read More:

goodness knows what the bbc are playing at but they have labelled all their mini series ( bleak house, planet earth, 20,000 streets ) etc as 1080i on the box set when in fact it is full 1080p - I just checked it on my blu-ray/hd-dvd drive on my PC using Nero Showtime which gives you full technical details of all the dics you play and it is full 1080p on the four feature discs and the 5th bonus disc of features is 1080i.
just which idiot decided to label it as this remains a mystery.

Sadly because of the Writers Strike hitting and the producers of the show not being smart enough to just put season 2 on hold and continue as originaly planned, Heroes season 2 isn't as good as the first. But knowing that only the last 5 minutes of episode 11 were changed.
Originally the virus was supposed to break out at the end of episode 11. Had this happened I don't doubt season 2 would have been better than the first, but season 2 is still a good watch, though no where near what it could have been.

It's always a little worrying when a writer/director decides to make a follow-up film 20 years after the last one. The "love it or hate it" Rambo series is generally fondly remembered by action movie fans and Rambo 3, though enjoyable, left you thinking there really is nowhere left for this storyline to go. So does the world really need yet another Rambo film? Well after watching this film, the answer is an emphatic yes!
So what's John Rambo been up to since he single-handedly took on the Soviet Union in Rambo 3? Well now he's decided to re-locate as far away from America as possible. Whereas most people would want to live out their retirement somewhere nice and quiet, not Rambo. He decides Burma, one of the most dangerous and war-torn countries in the world, is the ... Read More:

I don't know what it is about George Clooney, but the man seems to be as conflicted as some of the characters he plays when it comes to his movie roles. On the one hand he can deliver likeable if somewhat light weight roles such as those in the shallow series of crowd pleasers known as the Oceans movies, and on the other he can give us some heavy weight fare, such as Good Night and Good Luck, and this particularly fine piece of modern cinema.
Michael Clayton (Clooney, obviously) is what is known as the "fixer" for an upmarket law firm, the man the firm turns to when they have a problem that they need sorting out discreetly. However, Michael is not without his problems, including a gambling habit, a failing restaurant, and a brother who owes a lot of money to some unsavoury ... Read More:
