I was really looking forward to seeing this film after reading some of the reviews on Amazon, but after watching it, I was left feeling disappointed (fortunately I rented it). The good points were the black and white film and, well, that's about it for me! Assuming this is meant to be the story of Ian Curtis, and assuming we are meant to be drawn into why he did himself in, it missed some important facts and those that it did show were poorly done. The film doesn't have the emotional impact it needs to put the story across well and let's face it, Anton is a photographer so he was probably more concerned about getting each shot looking good (and he did a good job in that respect).
It was a BIG mistake to let the guys play the music ... Read More:

This is a brilliant series. It has wonderful acting, writing, directing, special effects and music. It blends horror, comedy, emotion, family drama, action, mystery and suspense perfectly. I would recommend this as it is an excellent drama series which has been missed by a lot of people because of the lack of publicity compared with other shows. This is the best programme on TV!

Generally this adventure has much to recommend it and does, indeed provide an interesting record of the time in which it was made. I came away glad to have watched it but not clear I would watch it again any time soon. Many things grated with me, in no particular order:
* WOTAN uses the name Doctor Who explicitly several times which I found grating
* The change of companions is abrupt and the story ends just as the new companions enter the TARDIS meaning you miss the trademark 'bigger on the inside' line
* The TARDIS prop is looking very tatty (though the last time I saw the Tennant TARDIS it had a hole in!)
* The last episode has a huge battle scene with War Machines vs. soldiers which is much ... Read More:

The idea of giving BL less than 5 stars is *unthinkable*, and yet I'm not sure season 4 even deserves 3.
Season 4 is a political propaganda machine, and an American one at that. It's overtly, staunchly and evangelically pro-Democrat, and to a Brit who watches BL for its genius, humour and absurdity, there are no words to describe the degree of disappointment.
Boston Legal has become increasingly political over the years: Boston Legal: Season 3 was fairly heavily weighted, but season 4 starts and stops with pro-Democrat evangelising. It is literally a season-long running advert for Barack Obama and a few episodes in, I grew weary of it. By the end of the season, the episodes were barely holding my attention.

All I can say is that this programme is brilliant. I have just purchased season 4 from the UK and totally enjoyed every episode. Well acted, well written with good story lines. All I want now is season 5 to become available. How long are going to have to wait? Not too long I hope.

Did not get into Skins until the second series so missed a lot of the best parts of it. I watched a couple of episodes of the second series and was blown off during it. As such missed a lot of it so decided to get the box set and have not regretted. I watched the whole first series in a single sitting - amazing. When it came to the second series I was thinking no way could they match the first but all credit to 4, Skins is a real pull back and a great drama. Get it and don't look back for Skins is good.

The story of France's most beloved singer begins in 1918 in a squalid section of Paris. Little Edith is abandoned by her parents and goes to live in her grandmother's brothel. There, she becomes blind from an eye disease and is cared for by the prostitutes. When she recovers her sight, she is forced to join her father as a street performer. Her remarkable singing voice is noticed by a night club manager and she begins her meteoric climb to success, but it is tempered by a series of personal tragedies.
The beautiful Marion Cotillard gives the performance of her life as Edith from her teen years to her death at age 47. She is physically transformed several times and is utterly convincing as a scrappy youth living on the streets, a sickly drug addict, and finally, a near-crippled ... Read More:

Ugly Betty is easily one of the best comedy shows of recent years and despite winning various awards including Emmys and Golden Globes, is criminally unwatched by many viewers.
The second series picks up exactly where the last one left off - the fate of Santos (Kevin Alejandro), Hilda's (Ana Ortiz) boyfriend is revealed, the true result of Daniel (Eric Mabius) and Alexis' (Rebecca Romijn) accident becomes clear and Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams) is still plotting to marry Bradford and take over from Daniel as Editor of Mode - and is just as charming, bright, bubbly and melodramatic as ever.
Ferrera cannot be beat as Betty, oozing with charm and appeal to create a truly lovable character who is very hard to dislike. Betty's relationship with Henry (Christopher Gorham) is ... Read More:
