I LOVE THIS SHOW and season 4 doesn't let the side down! With the ingenious addition of Cybal Sheppard and Marlee Matlin this season is seriously one to watch - if only to get you ready for the Season 5 ride!!!!

I really enjoyed this film. The whole film looks great. I love how they blend being awake with being asleep. Really good dialog, I thoroughly recommend seeing this film.

Rarely does television or film do justice to the origonal intent of an author. But this and its accompanying series, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, may just be the exceptions to prove the rule. Beautifully adapted, exceptionally well acted, by a first class cast, including the late great Sir Alec Guinness. This drama slowly builds tension and layers of intrigue, weaving a tapestry of lies, truths, half truths, suspicions and faded memories.
If you enjoy being gently drawn into another world of pale shadows and grey ghost, forlorn memories and wistful regrets. If you have a normal attention span and an intellect that enjoys being stimulated, this is for you. If however you are of the 20 nanosecond, when is the next explosion coming ... Read More:

This dvd runs for 459 minutes not 279 so is great value for money in my eyes. Nearly 8 hrs of top drama. One of the grittiest tv shows still being made today.

. . . and I didn't. Yes, I know, it gets all the plaudits, and continually features in favourite film lists, but my wife and I found it exceedingly tedious, and the acting both over-the-top and wooden (if you can combine the two). By OTT, I mean gushing and melodramatic. By wooden, I mean unconvincing and uninspired. We squirmed. The story is slight, but I know that's not the point. But, when it is so slight, you need everything else in place and for me - who has admired Trevor Howard in any things - it just didn't hang together. Sorry to be so frightfully stuffy, and all that, but it's an absolute stinker of a film.

I didn't actually think i would like sex and the city. I bought it on dvd and absoloutely loved it. I think that everyone who watches this loves it. Sex and the City is amazing i don't know what i'd do without it.

Well done to the BBC and the actors involved for such a great adaptation of this novel! The characters hold much more depth than in the Emma Thompson version (you actually believe and are shown that she loves Edward.) David Morrisey is also very convincing as Colonel Brandan. Furthermore, you don't feel as if you are being rushed through the story as I have often felt with other adaptations. The romances are allowed to develop/fail slowly, circumstances such as how the Dashwoods come to be so poor are explained clearly and in a logcal way.
Like classical adaptations? Buy this one! Don't like them? Buy this anyway, you will soon change your mind!

I borrowed this second series from a friend and started watching them on Saturday morning. By the evening I had finnished the whole series - I just couldn't tear myself away. In this series, all Daxters earlier handywork surfaces (quite literally) and Miami PD find themselves on the hunt for the Blue Bay Butcher.
For any Dexter fans that saw the first series - all the same cast is in this. Deb (who is trying to come to terms with being the ex-finacee of the ice-truck killer), Angel, Maria, Rita and the children and the fantastic Doakes. James Doakes plays a much bigger part in series 2 as he trails Dexter and becomes more and more suspicious of him.
There is also the introduciton of a major new part in this series in the form of Lila, ... Read More:

This is the last of the great Seasons before the show fell apart.
Philip Capice is in complete charge while Leonard Katzman left as producer. The changes are obvious but not all for the worse. Some of the stories this Season are the best out of the entire series. The down syndrome story with Susan Howard is absolutely fantastic. Susan should have had an emmy for her work. There is the show's most sinister villain in the form of the beautiful Barbara Carrera as Angelica. We have more glamour this Season as that is what was wanted at the time with the success of Dynasty in 1985. The Season starts off absolutely brilliant then from about episode 13 it starts to go a little wonky with trips abroad and some lame stories, but don't be put off by this, there are ... Read More:

A potentially fabulous box set is scuppered by the fact (as pointed out by other reviewers) that four of the films - The Birds, Marnie, Torn Curtain and Topaz - are presented in completely the wrong aspect ratio, despite information to the contrary on the boxes themselves. The upshot is that anyone who buys this set, tempted by the admittedly wonderful extra features, will still have to buy widescreen (Region 1) versions of these films if they want to see them in a form even approximating to what Hitchcock intended. How ridiculous. They might just as well have colorised Psycho while they were at it.
