This excellent dance instruction DVD starts with a terrific warm-up, that centers on isolations and stretches. In order to do all the stretches full-out, you'd have to be quite limber, but you can do them at your own level, and still get a lot out of it. This warm-up section is good even if you don't want to continue on to the dance routines, as it makes a great morning "wake-up" as well as a relaxing way to get the tension out of your body after a hard day. I have been using this dvd for a week now and really love it.
I have a relatively low level of fitness after gaining weight, and taking a year off from hockey. I do other dvds such as Davinas and love them, but was looking for a change and something to give me a bit of fitness before getting back to hockey.
I really like the fact that this dvd has nutritional advice and a 6 week fitness plan. The plan really helps me fit the exercise into my routine, I know what is planned for the week ahead and can be organised about fitting it in. As it is alternated dvd one day and a walk the next it encourages me to get up and do the dvd even if I'm tired, as I know I am only walking for 30mins the next day.

This must be one of the first 10 minute solutions DVD's produced, I have quite a few in my collection which I just love, but I have to say I didn't enjoy this as much. The camara angles make me feel dizzy sometimes when trying to watch the screen as the camara man has a habit of performing a haphazard angling effect which distorts what the instructor is trying to show you (this does not happen in the more recent 10 solution DVD's) this instructor does not explain the moves as well as her fellow instructors in more recent DVD's. Its ok and I will use it still, but not as much as the others. Its broken up in 5 x 10 minute workouts: Boot Camp, Pilates, Ballet, Kickboxing and Yoga.

I have just completed this dvd, for the first time, and feel a little disappointed. I was expecting it to be a bit more energetic. I am reasonably fit and could manage all the exercises, however I found that some of them weren't demonstrated or explained very well, and some put a lot of strain on your back. I don't feel that I have worked out as much as I would have liked, and the instructor was awful. He couldn't count and was out of sync with the music. Kate Lawler looks great, but she clearly didn't get that body from doing this dvd. Perhaps she has been secretly doing Davina's!!!

I bought this set on foot of Katy's work on the "Geribody yoga" video. I liked her teaching style and sequencing on that DVD very much. I wasn't disappointed with this set, but I do have some reservations.
First, I'll give an idea of the content of these discs:
Disc 1 is called "Freedom, Space, Flow", and contains a lying warm-up, sound vibration and chanting, seated warm-up, all fours warm-up, sun salute warm-up, sun salute, standing postures and guided relaxation/shavasana.
Disc 2 "Joy, Radiance, Bliss" has a short lying warm-up, intro to chakras and sounds, standing warm up, a 45 minute flowing class, backwards bends, twists and inversions and relaxation.

I have bought the DVD about half a year ago and since then I practise the exercises (more or less) on a daily basis - and I note real benefits to my health and state of mind! My hips and back stopped aching, I feel light and strong, relaxed and energised simultanously.
The exercises are easy to learn (and to perform) - in one section of the DVD they are described in detail and later on you do the whole routine together with the Barefoot Doctor - I repeated this several weeks until I knew the routine by heart and can do it now every morning on the beach.

This has great cardio for a tai bo workout which really pushes you. I am quite fit and it made me sweat. There is no high impact, grapevines in this one just straight forward taibo moves yet it is still challenging. He has a variety of ppl doing the workout with him ranging from the superfit & toned to a granny and small child! They are all sweating and redfaced by the end of it also!! I get a little bored with doing taibo/boxing style aerobics all the time but this is a good one for a challenging addition to your collection.

I didn't think the dances were very well taught. Only a very quick step through of the turns in the rock and roll for example. Would be difficult for a couple to pick up the steps from this. It was also a bit off-putting to have the demo dancers doing a very high class pro routine, immediately before doing the mundane steps. Just seemed like showing off.
Pretty poor stuff overall.

Now I get easily irritated by instructors but this was fantastic! Cindy is very normal and not stupidly perfect or fake-tanned and the instructor is really lovely. As an ex-dancer I've done a lot of varied training and this is completely professional. Clearly and safely explained, it covers the whole body almost without you realising it!
I haven't just had a baby but post-natal workouts are often very good for toning the body and this is no exception - it's not a heavy cardio DVD but you do sweat. I got a fantastic body in a few weeks - all over! I highly reccomend this, particularly if, like me, you like a relaxing workout in the morning (you can choose from a 12-minute, 30-minute and 45-minute routine). Very satisfying!
