We are a fairly hard to please viewing group, but all of us were gripped by this film. Due to it's element of true story, it wasn't at all predictable. The music was subtle, the scenery sublime. Characterisations were much above the usual horror stereotypes. Some of our group had to put hands over eyes or look away. Very shocking in parts. Not one to watch with children! Or alone!

just watched this film another brit horror comedy well i thought of dog soldiers+descent i was well disappointed it was slow going took about 35 minutes for the first bit of action i laughed at a few bits of the film but it was daft stupid and i can't believe i paid £14 for it should of rented it or borrowed it of some-one

The prestigious New York Times (among others) has given the new Argento film a great review... and with good reason. The Mother of Tears gives us a sure-footed, bolder Argento; taking us from one shocking moment to the next. While the narrative comes frightfully close to unravelling at times, this is a thrill ride that holds you to the end.

Don't listen to the rantings of geeks all over the web: bad acting, implausible plot-twists, bad acting and dubbing are things Argento has been accused of from the very start of his career. But he manages to make art.

While I've not liked his last few films, Mother of Tears has reminded me of why I love him as a director.

I've never seen the computer game on which this film was based.All I can say is that this was a highly entertaining thriller/horror movie that moved quickly and stylishly from beginning to end.Packed with surprises,great special effects,well-placed humour and fine acting.

Halloween is arguably one of the greatest horror movies ever made. To attempt to re-make, or "re-imagine" it, is doomed from the outset. When it was first announced that the film would be re-made I was sceptical, but still intrigued to see the end result. Sadly, what has been made is a deeply depressing and offensive film.

The film starts with an unnecessarily long back story to establish why Michael Myers ended up as a deranged serial killer. Part of the appeal of the original is the fact that the viewer is thrown straight into the story and, not knowing what made him into the killer he has become, makes him more frightening. After hearing that this was crap compared to Cloverfield (2007) I had originally thought to leave this and wait till it was on terrestrial Television. It was not until i bought Cloverfield and watched it for the first time that the Hype for the Film was over a film that dealt very little about the creatures plot in the film (which you would think would have as much as the characters who get picked off during the course of the film).
However after being slightly dissapointed with the much hyped Cloverfield my interest grew in this Romero Insert into the "New Media" Film technique.
Obviously i had heard from one of my friends that it wasn't as good as cloverfield, so that made me wonder would me and my family (My Mum & Brother) find this was better than Cloverfield? ... Read More:

I haven't read all of the Vampire Chronicles - in fact, nowhere near. But I'm working on it. I'm definitely a fan of the books and think Anne Rice invents wonderful characters and that films need to work hard to do justice to the books. And this, the second in the series of books and films, certainly impressed me.

Despite being called The Queen of the Damned, this film is the story of legendary vampire Lestat, played by Stuart Townsend. In the beginning of the film, Lestat has been in a decades-long slumber due to his dissatisfaction with the world. surprisingly good straight to dvd sequel to the overated 2003 original this is an effective and very gory sick puppy sequel that delivers what it says on the tin but be warned it is not for the faint of heart and is more for the hardcoregore hounds.but still give this a go
