V the mini series and it's sequel V the final battle are great SF. Tough the special effects are not up to today's standard, this is more than compensated for by the interesting storyline (a parable about the naziregime) and protagonists who are real people with real faults and doubts. Some become collaborators, some become heroes against their will, but there are no black and white characters all good or all bad, except for Diana (a Dr.Mengele-like character only with real power, not a follower like Mengele was).
Together these two form an epic story of real interest.
Unfortunately the formula was milked into a television series (V The complete series) wich has deteriorated to mediocre or less. The stories have become childish, ... Read More:
Apparently the little genius town of Eureka hasn't quite run out of disasters yet, even with the destruction of the Artifact.
In fact, Eureka's problems get worse as the show's writing becomes better, starting with the citizens bursting into flame. The second season of "Eureka" is more confident and well-balanced than the previous one, and it takes the characters, quirky humor and tight writing into brand-new territory. Including Carter walking around naked.
The timeline has been restored, and Carter (Colin Ferguson) and Henry (Joe Morton) are trying to adjust to their past lives. Carter also is convinced that the future will unfold just as it did in the other timeline.

now although i admit the film is confusing if you haven't played the game it's still a great film i watched it and i hadn't played the game and i pieced together most of it aprt from the characters my advice if you haven't played the game is to ignore the plot and focus on the action aside from that it's a complex intelligent beautiful action filled film i advise to watch

Season Two.
Another amusing gem from the prolific Dennis Spooner. This is regarded as the first of the Pseudo-Historicals, and is one of my favourite season two stories.
I can never feel anything but sorrow for the Monk at the end of this story as he's left stranded. I know he was a rogue, as witnessed by his Tardis full of stolen art treasures, but he did help the ancient Britons build Stonehenge with the aid of his anti-gravitational lift, after all.
"Carry on" film star Peter Butterworth plays the part of the monk with amusing relish. I would have loved to have seen him as a regular recurring.....I hesitate to use the word villain, so I'll say character instead.
And by being "shades of grey" in temperament, as opposed to the ... Read More:

I watched the whole of the original X Files when they were first on TV and loved the series. I have just purchased (and watched) the X Files movie and have to admit that it has re-kindled my love for this series. The film is as good, if not better than I expected and I suspect I will now start buying the whole TV series. So, if like me, you haven't watched the X Files for a few years, I can recommend this film. I loved it.

Season seven of Stargate SG-1 sees the return of Daniel Jackson to the team after having his memory erased and returned to human form, as well as the leaving of Jonas Quinn and a somewhat reduced role for Jack O'Neill. The season itself is somewhat random in its episode quality with some terrible episodes, such as Avenger 2.0, but the season finally makes up for all the bad episodes with a greatly cinematic and exciting episode. Although altogether season seven is not the greatest Stargate season ever but the many good episodes outweigh the dire ones.

To say that this film looks stunning on Blu-Ray would be an understatement!!
Right from the off you are presented with a city-scape so detailed you feel as though you could fly right in and this is 25 years old! I never saw this in the cinema when it came out but watching it in HiDef would make me go to see it if it was re-released.
This final-cut version doesn't have the Deckard voice over, but it's hard to not forget it when you watch the film, but the new editing and deletion/ isertion of some scenes makes this the best version by far.
Also if you haven't read "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep" you should have, it gives the story a new perspective.

Like all great series SG-1 has had it's highs and lows, series 6 was, unfortunatly, the worst series to date. With the depature of Danieal Jackson the group had to have a new member, in the shape of Jonnas Quin. Unfortunatly Jonnas was never truly explored as a character, he failed to appear in 2-3 of the episodes and in the episodes he did appear he often had next to nothing to do. Because of this he never realy managed to feel like anything other than a rushed replacment for Daniel and the series suffered for it.
If you are a SG-1 fan then this is a worthy buy to complete the set, otherwise it's best left ignored

I love this film, it's everything I want in a movie and it's shot so well. Don't watch this film if you're going to analyse every last scientific detail, I don't think people who do that enjoy films all that much anyway to be fair. Good characterisations, although one or 2 do seem to be missed out. A damn good sci-fi film, you get a real feel of isolation (as has been mentioned before) a lot like in Alien.

What people have failed to review here is what a poor season no 3 actually was. The show was in big trouble when it's 3rd season came around.Creator gene roddenberry had left the show after being promised that star treks 3rd season would have the top tv slot of the week,7pm on a mon night, the execs at nbc changed their minds and bumped trek to fri nights at 10pm when its core audience kids n teenagers would be either in bed or out partying. Rodenberry left in disgust and most of the briliant writers who had worked on season 1 and 2 left also, along with the brillaint D.C fontana who by no coincidence produced 1 last script for the show which ends up one of seasson 3's best eps! NBC brought in freddy frieberger a staple of western shows in the 60;s who had a different vision than roddenberry, also ... Read More:
