this film was 75million dollars of pure crap. it was so predictable and from watching it makes me doubt if it was really $75million??? avoid if you want to be entertained there is no point wasting your money. the storyline is so cheesy and the actors are clearly not qualified to be actors. if they spent more on the actors it might have been worthwhile to watch. 100% disapointment. a present for the bin.

Like all great series SG-1 has had it's highs and lows, series 6 was, unfortunatly, the worst series to date. With the depature of Danieal Jackson the group had to have a new member, in the shape of Jonnas Quin. Unfortunatly Jonnas was never truly explored as a character, he failed to appear in 2-3 of the episodes and in the episodes he did appear he often had next to nothing to do. Because of this he never realy managed to feel like anything other than a rushed replacment for Daniel and the series suffered for it.
If you are a SG-1 fan then this is a worthy buy to complete the set, otherwise it's best left ignored

It is true that, unfortunately, this edition of Night Watch only has English subtitles for the impaired of hearing, but this is - in my opinion - more than compensated by the fact that the version shown is the Russian rather than the International edition, with quite a few differences and even a charachter - Ignat - who was present in the Russian version but edited out of the international one.

I'm a sci-fi fan so my comments are biased but I thoroughly enjoyed this mini-series. I would recommend it to viewers who like films of a weird/otherworldy/supernatural quality. Definitely not down-to-earth stuff but then the characters are quite real and believable.
Fritz Lang's futuristic Metropolis is set in as it happens something like the current era. Most of the population are workers who slave underground to keep the massive machine that is the city going while the privileged stay above ground and live hedonistic lives. It is impossible not to see this in Marxian terms, the prols exploited by the capitalist class. At the time of the film's production in Germany, there was indeed a specter haunting Europe and it was indeed the specter of communism. Curiously Lang ends the film with a blatant political statement. He has labor and capital reluctantly shake hands. I find this curious because there is little doubt that for the previous two and a half hours the film depicts the capitalist class in ... Read More:

Yes, it's low budget. Yes, the sets wobble. Yes, the costumes are naff. But Blake's 7 has that certain 'something' that makes it special and something to be cherished. The first of the four seasons isn't the best, but it does have a freshness and harder edge that gradually diminished as the show went on. What makes this show so watchable are it's characters who are wonderfully brought to life by some excellent actors. The Blake's 7 universe is a very dark and pessimistic one, the total opposite of Star Trek, an Orwellian 1984 scenario in space with the heroic Blake and his crew bravely fighting against overwhelming odds. The first episode, The Way Back is one of the finest episodes of the entire series and one of the most adult too (Blake being convicted on false charges of child ... Read More:

The programme material is fine... my issue is with the packaging. There are 4 episodes each on discs 1 & 2, 2 episodes on disc 3, and 1 episode on disc 4..!
Plenty of room to spread the 11 episodes across 3 discs - at a cheaper price.
Klaatu: This comes from our own planet, but if you threaten to extend your violence, this Earth of yours will be reduced to a burned-out cinder. Your choice is simple: join us and live in peace, or pursue your present course and face obliteration. We shall be waiting for your answer. The decision rests with you."IMDB
'The Day the Earth Stood Still' was one of the first movies in the 1950's to explore space travel and to provide a warning that "the use of violence as a solution to all problems" is an issue we need to face. All these years later we are still on this path and these words have not been taken seriously. This movie is known as the best Science Fiction movie ever written. 56 years later it still stands up. Patricia Neal had no idea this would be the case and had ... Read More:
