Match 1 - JBL -VS- FINLAY (Belfast Brawl)

A very solid opening match full of high impact spots, The thing you must realise about these two "superstars" is that they have known each other for many a year, even before there WWE days so they have a fine understanding of how each other works and how far they can push it, Finlay hits a spectacular Undertakeresque dive through the ropes and takes some big bumps and hard hitting shots to the head. Wrong man won in my eyes.

To say I was disappointed by this is an understatement. The idea sounded great and having heard the music in a shop I was even more interested in seeing it. But close ups of Zidane kicking his heels about sums it up. It lost all the pace and excitment that football is about and didn't even fill in the gaps in story of the game. They no doult were edited out in the name of 'art' along with some of Mogwai's music.
So one star for the original idea (I did liked the camera shot moving through the empty corridors and stairways, up and into the stadium arena) and one for the music, which was memorable, if a little sparce.

Just received this DVD and once I started watching it I couldn't stop. I am not even a rugby fan, but in terms of team preparation it was a great resource.

If you want to see all the footage from all of the games, this is the wrong DVD for you. However, if you want to know what made the Lions tick behind the scenes this DVD is a must.

Footage from games, training sessions, team meetings, selection meetings, physio rooms, dressing rooms. It has it all.

Richard Hammond's BBC Top Gear Interactive Challenge [2007] [Interactive DVD]

First proper interactive DVD (since the dull HP), and managing 140 points and trying to Blow Up Hamster (he's in caravan 2 or 3) was great! That's a quick-paced, fun game which has loads of new cars in it. Got that?

On an iMac, when you play Head 2 Head, and you choose Team Hammond, it freezes. But the rest was fine.

P.S I'd love a Dr Who one!

I think this DVD is fantastic for the beginner of golf or for someone like me that has not played for 5-6 years, as a refresher on the fundamentals of how to put a round of golf together.

All the basic aspects of golf are covered from TEE to GREEN, DRIVING to PUTTING and the correction of Bad shots such as HOOKS and SLICES (with an explanation of where they come from).

Gary McCords presenting style is just up my street - not condesending or patronising - just witty and to the point.

I watched it a few times and took the advise to the driving range and hit some far better, consistent shots than i did the week before - Perfect - just what i wanted - 5 stars.

David Carradine - An Introduction For Beginners To AM And PM Tai Chi

If I remember correctly this is a late 90s production that was once sold on Amazon.com in region 1 VHS format and was titled " David Carradines Tai Chi For The Mind & Body" and received mostly impressive reviews. This long awaited UK DVD version has the added bonus of some nice stuff in the extras menu and also the advantage of being able to choose either the AM (mind) or the PM (body) routine at the push of a button and without any old fashioned fast forewarding.

It is a shame they never kept the Mind & Body title but that does not take away the fact that this is very simple and highly enjoyable and beneficial couple of Tai Chi workouts

Lance Armstrong - 7 In A Row

Whilst this DVD obviously focuses on Lance Armstrong it does give plenty of information on the other main players during the Armstrong years. There is lots of race footage, and with commentary by the excellent Phil Liggit it is quite gripping to watch. The only gripe I have is that most of the race stats
are given in Kilometres, which means constant translating into something meaningful. Highly recommended for fans of Lance and of The Tour.
