Absolutely brilliant adaptation and a great ensemble cast. I have to single out Eileen Atkins performance as the one which affected me most - the scene where she sits struggling with her ideas of convention as to whether she can attend the funeral in support of her friend is breathtakingly good - so much of what you understand is going on is not dialogue based but entirely down to her performance.

This show is totally terrific. Based around supernatural powers - this show really does it very well. With one human with supernatural powers wanting more supernatural powers, its up to other humans with supernatural powers to stop this evil force and save the world from destruction.
The story sounds like a RPG fantasy game or a story pulled from the Marvels Comics Universe, but honestly, the show is simply amazing and has so many twists and turns along the way to make you coming back for more. The special effects just keeps you wondering how these effects were put together - especially the power to freeze time, even during an explosion.
Heroes is such a wonderful show with such an amazing cast that makes the show that ... Read More:

One Tree Hill - Series 5 I was unsure how skipping 4 years was going to turn out, after Dawsons Creek going downhill when they left high school I was worried OTH would be the same. I was pleased to find out I was wrong, infact I think this is up there along with the 1st series and maybe even better. I like how they've grown up and with extra characters like the utterly cute Jamie it makes it even better. I just love Brooke's storyline at the end of the series, it shows her not to be the self centred Brooke that we know. If you haven't seen it yet its a must!

It's Family Guy, you either love it or hate it and no amount of gushing from me will change your mind. If you're interested I gave it 4 stars because although the episodes in the set are still blummin' good, it's not the best Family Guy has ever been.
It's important to point out that there is nothing new in this set. ALL the episodes have already been shown on BBC3 and so please don't rush into thinking you're getting in ahead of TV audiences because you're not.
Make a note also of the comments from other reviewers here regarding this not being a complete series and then write to your MP to complain!

Series 3 is sort of uneven - three standout episodes that are strong enough to overwhelm the lazy, self indulgent strand running through all six. The main problem for me was that they brought to the fore those wonderful details that added unique texture in series 1 & 2. For example, crimping. Before crimping had a name, it was something that cropped up every now and then in a natural, brilliant sort of way. In series three there's an entire episode dedicated to crimping. Knowing it's something that can be taught, can be practiced and even copied just sorta cheapened it. The same goes for the Council of Shamen, and particularly Tony Harrison who's been transformed into a hard living drug fiend.
The other big problem is that the Boosh now inhabit ... Read More:

Okay people, newsflash. This film is included in the Season 4 boxset. Which was slightly galling to discover, though Amazon's price was very reasonable, but I now have two copies of this, when I only need one...
First things first. Old school cylons. They're still CGI, sadly, but the appearance of the Centurions just reminds you how great that design is. And they say by your command, which is ace. There's a fab mid-air battle between a Centurion and a young Bill Adama, which also is ace.
Okay, so what about the rest of the film. The story uses an officer who served on the Pegasus as its POV character, allowing the writers to flashback to when Admiral Cain was still alive and therefore give the excellent Michelle Forbes more work. The film gives ... Read More:

Am a huge fan of NCIS, keeps you on the edge of your seats! Mark Harmon plays an absolutely brilliant role in this and the remaining cast are fantastic! A real must for all TV addicts! Cant wait for the next series to be released!

I had never seen the original Battlestar Galactica and watched this mini series because it was cheap and I saw it had reasonable reviews. BSG is now my favorite TV show. The characters are complex and believable, the story is dark yet superbly told and the show combines stellar acting with some fantastic action sequences. As a whole the series manages to be compelling in many ways. The music and CGI are top notch and the wonderful cast add depth to every issue that gets raised and many are. This is no black and white story as it hinted at in the mini series and it is astounding how deep it all gets while never losing sight of the struggles of the amazingly well defined and diverse characters.
The mini series itself was the first thing I have ever watched that brought me to tears just ... Read More:

Infact, this is better than Peep show. It's a funny look at real life, and at no point do you think "that would never happen". Every epsiode practically has me peeing myself with laughter.
Although its called Gavin and Stacey, I actually think the show is all about Smithy, Nessa and Bryn, as well as Gavin's parents, as they are the best characters. I've lent series one to loads of people, and they've all loved it. I can't reccommend it enough.
Comedy genius.

Felt compelled to add my name to the list of poor reviews for the Simpsons season 11. I returned mine the day after I bought it as two of the discs were badly scratched. I love the show but can't justify buying this season to watch once or twice if I'm lucky before the box destroys the discs. Hopefully enough people will avoid it so the manufacturers will see sense and issue further batches with packaging suitable for humans.
