I am a total novice regarding IT stuff, I had this connected set-up and running in 20mins. Thought is was going to be a nightmare but set up CD was brill. Kids well happy, strong signal and good connection speeds.

I rarely review items on Amazon, but felt compelled to write a short review of this product to counter the other rather negative reviews.
I bought this, after reading high praise on various websites such as pc pro, to replace an aging BT voyager router.
This is not a router for the technically timid. Setup involves an awkward looking web-based config - however, once you obtain the right settings from your broadband provider the fields are easy to fill - in fact, for me the default settings "just worked". There is a CD based config package which is PC only. As a Mac user I couldn't use it. Perhaps this makes the config easier.
One further potential problem for the wifi newbie. The unit is provided without wireless ... Read More:

I bought this to replace an older D-link router that was showing it's age, and bought it especially for the N band to match a new laptop.
The setup is easy to be honest: I didn't even bother with the CD malarky that is included because I find they usually cause more hassle than they save. To get it working you just plug in the relevant cables and go the setup page in your web browser (just type 192.168.0.1 into the address bar). From there you just log in using the default password in the manual and run the setup wizard which just takes a few minutes. Simple.
The only issue I had was that it couldn't connect to the internet at first, but I quickly figured this out: I had to use the same MAC code as my old router I was replacing. ... Read More:

This is my third router, the previous ones being Belkin and Netgear, and both became faulty after a period of use. I have had the Voyager for about seven months, so I can't vouch for its long term performance, but the performance within that period has been exceptionally good. Firstly, the Internet connection has NEVER dropped out. It has been switched off when I have been away from home occasionally and on switching on again it recaptures the broadband signal within about half a minute without my touching it. The other two both had occasional drop outs and had to be rebooted. Secondly the signal strength right at the top of my three storey Victorian house is more than twice as strong as it was with my earlier routers. The wireless card in the upstairs PC reports ... although the CD setup program would not recognise the internet connection and had to configure through manual system, it was very easy and I am delighted that it all worked - I am running XP and have added both a vista system and XP pro laptop to the wireless network - the CD setup worked fine for adding the USB wireless adapter. XP pro machine require WPA rather than WEP encryption. great !

This is one of the most frustrating products I have ever bought.
I was aware of problems with the device, but I read that a firmware upgrade had fixed the initial problem, so I bought one anyway.
The first warning was when I took it out of the box and found no UK power connector or SCART cable. That was okay as I had both and one potential frustration was averted. My next, more serious, problem was that the display rolled. This was down to the original firmware not supporting my rather old 50Hz only television. A firmware upgrade fixed this, though this was impossible to do without borrowing a friend's television, which was frustrating. I watched the performance of the unit on the old firmware and it was appalling. I'm amazed they shipped it. ... Read More:
