After reading the great reviews and trusting the brand name, I decided to buy this product. Sadly, it was very disappointing.

When I first plugged it into my iPod Shuffle, I thought it was faulty. After turning the volume to max on both my car stereo and iPod, I managed to get some sound out of it. It was pretty quiet and definitely not loud enough for listening when driving on the motorway.

Would be very grateful if anyone can recommend one that they KNOW works with iPod Shuffles.

Pretty good, saved me money buying a cd player and the sound quality is exellent, i opened mine up and took the cogs out to make it quieter and still works fine.

I bought this instead of getting a CD player for my car, since most of my music is on my Creative Zen player anyway, and have had problems from day one. The sound from the tape itself is loud, the sound cuts out every so often while the tape clicks and makes loud sounds (maybe trying to switch sides), and sometimes after cutting out it comes back at a completely different volume, which could actually be pretty dangerous when it suddenly blasts out the speakers at twice the volume, as well as always having to adjust the volume instead of watching the road. The build quality is also poor - it feels cheap and the cable fibres eventually wore out meaning the volume and balance changes depending on how the wire's bent. It is well built, the controls (tune and volume) are solid and smooth, sound quality (I mostly listen to radio 3) is perfectly adequate, and it seems to last forever on a set of 4 AA batteries. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Although FM reception is good, I found AM very poor - lots of noise and virtually no reception when product is held upright. Tape quality is good as expected. Controls are fiddly - too few buttons. Battery life good, especially considering only takes 1 X AA. Design of battery compartment poor though - after using for about 18 months, broke after dropping a couple of feet, rendering it virtually unusable. Would not buy this product again.

For a reasonable price (hmmm... a penny? exc. delivery), this cassette adaptor is more than a reasonable product to satisfy your needs.

This is a really nice and 'simple' product to use.

Tuning is easy because it has the 'old fashioned' analogue dial. It makes finding a station simple.

The on-off switch is big and on the front of the set. The radio uses regular 'AA' batteries, which seem to last forever. I bought one of these radio's for my wife - she uses it in the kitchen every day, and to listen to when ironing. The on/off switch is really useful when the phone rings and you have 'kitchen' or 'garden' fingers - you don't get the radio all messy or wet!

My mother-in-law liked it so much that we got her the same model for her birthday, and it also lives in her kitchen most of the time.

I wanted a small radio/cassette player for the kitchen where I like to record from the radio onto tapes. Unfortunately the bandwidth for Radios 4 and 3 is very narrow which makes tuning very difficult. Reception and sound quality not good. I haven't used the CD function. It's probably good all-round value for the price but it doesn't work well for the purpose I wanted it for.
