Whne i recently purchased an i-pod it worked up untill about a week before freezing twice both within th same week or so.Then not so later after this is went completely black and unfortunately hasnt been working since.

I must admit this Sansa has been quite a disappointment. I've had it for two days now, I bought it mainly for the touted high sound quality it was supposed to deliver. Well it's not really impressive. I'm really not a hi-fi geek, although I do pay attention to the way the music I listen to is encoded and I'm sensitive to differences in quality. I encode all my music with lame in MP3 VBR format (for those who do not know lame is an open source encoder that provides quality virtually indistinguishable from CDs, on most consumer equipment). My previous player was a hard disk based Creative Nomad Zen extra 60gb - really excellent when it comes to sound quality - but way too bulky.

For the money, I guess this isn't a bad little machine, but I'd agree with all the other people who've said that it's a bit too quiet. In an otherwise quiet environment it's fine, but out in the real world, even at full volume, it really doesn't cut the mustard. I find it loud enough for rock music, but pretty useless for talking books, on the street or on the train, and especially on planes. You can't hear a damn thing! I'm not a big classical listener, but I also find that orchestral stuff isn't as loud as it might be. Listening to a Star Wars soundtrack the other morning as I walked to work, I could barely hear it even at full volume, and the road I was walking alongside wasn't THAT busy. Buy this now! The Amazon price of £119 (at least £60 cheaper than it's ever been sold elsewhere) is a bargain.

This CD/Radio is an updated version of the CD740 that I've owned for 2 years. When another radio/CD died it was an obvious choice to get the CD745.

RDS radio, ability to play MP3/WMA from the CD player and an optional Ipod dock make this a superbly featured device.

But the most compelling reason for buying this item is the sound quality. For the size of the device and the price it's amazing. Sound quality - compares favourably to the Bose Wave Radio which costs 3x as much! Good service from Amazon as usual but this product only works when the car is not moving. I have tried it in both cars and there is obviously something loose in the wiring as it crackles loudly when in use. When it does not crackle it sounds OK. Have not bothered to send it back as all the packaging went in the bin when I sliced my finger open on it and I cannot be bothered to repackage and return. I Will buy a different brandto replace it.

I have purchased a number of Sony items over the years, including other Atrac CD/MD/ Network Walkman products, and had no reservations about buying this particular model. For the price, it is a superb performer, with a very clear and detailed sound, which belies the Atrac compression. To be able to get 30+ CD's worth of music on to one blank CD-R is a major bonus, particularly for motorists- obviously without the need to keep changing discs every few hours. It's far better than a CD auto changer in that respect. Coupled with a cassette adaptor kit and cigar lighter connection (or even using rechargable batteries) it couldn't be simpler to install and use.

This CD player is certainly portable, but not very convenient because there is no belt clip or means of attachment to clothing. In other words, you can be stationery with it on a surface near you or moving provided you hold it!

Unfortunately, this deficiency cannot be seen without cutting open the firm plastic packaging, which then voids the conditions for return to Amazon.

The sound quality is satisfactory but the "mega bass" does not do much for my hearing.

I like these head units so much that I have bought 2 of them! They do everything they say they will very well. You even get an aerial adapter in the box so everything should be ready to go!

The only down side is that the instruction manual can be a bit hard to follow at times but once you have set up the AUX input for your ipod and got rid of the demo scrolling message you will not need to look at it again.

Also the volume control does the balance/tone settings and if you accidentally push the control instead of turning it, you have to go through all the settings to get back to change the volume. This took a bit of getting used to, but it's a niggle not a bad flaw.
